December 10, 201213 yr Keep the Rex but let Opus drive the weather. Far, far better! That's all Opus can do. Opus has nothing to do with textures. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
December 10, 201213 yr That's all Opus can do. Opus has nothing to do with textures. I suppose that's why he said to 'keep the REX'. Love the hat and beard btw.
December 10, 201213 yr Thanks. It was the 'but' that triggered me. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
December 12, 201213 yr I failed to notice that we're in the FSX forum as most posts on this are in the unofficial ORBX forum. My comments were aimed at the detractors of the critics there. FTX has done better, and hopefully will improve FTX ENG, but there are one or two skimped areas that really spoil it for me personally. I just noticed that too. There is lots to interest everyone everywhere I think, but it is mostly concerning FTX, so I will leave a link here, but move the thread down to the ORBX forum so Jeroen can get even more forgiveness! :friends: This is an automatic message. This topic has been moved from "MS FSX Forum" to "The Unofficial ORBX Forum". This move has been done for a number of possible reasons. The most likely reason is that the post was off topic. The topic could also have contained images or a video that were not appropriate to the original forum it was posted in. The images might not have been "illustrative" or "explanatory" in nature. The topic could have been moved because we deemed it to be more appropriately placed elsewhere. Please ensure that your posts are "on topic" and contain illustrative images or videos as appropriate. Do not post videos or images just for entertainment purposes anywhere but in the screen shot or video forums. Members who continue to post off topic posts can be denied entry to specific forums in order to reduce and remove the practice. Your cooperation is appreciated.
December 13, 201213 yr I think this post was for the general community even if it was about FTX ENG, should have stayed in the fsx forum imo. David Murden. December 14, 201213 yr I really, really wish I could be bragging and boasting about how great ORBX ENG is....... But... I installed it, tried it, tweaked it, then tried it loads more, and all I can say is, maybe I shouldn't have... I already have GEX and UTX, and with this installed, the only notable difference is the tree's, and some nicer airports.. I now have non-stop stutters, runway lights that are 3ft off the ground, roads that don't line up at all with what's on the ground(Duplicated roads that go in different directions), buildings that are totally not to scale, huge parks/open spaces are either covered with houses, or nothing but a cluster of trees, and road traffic that does an instant U turn at every bridge, airports that are not where the 737MFD shows they are (Heathrow now is far off to the right when flying along the Thames, on the MFD screen, even thought the view out the window shows its right in front of me) I'm not talking about anywhere remote either, I'm talking about South London... Try flying over Clapham Common as just 1 of many examples, if you can find it... Look it up on Google maps, then go fly over it and see the few HUGE houses that in its place.. Scale seems to be a problem with this scenery, big time. I live on the outskirts, in Croydon, and am surrounded by Green fields, but you wouldn't know it to fly ORBX ENG.. Roads that I know are miles long, are really short, and roads off in the distance are all green, not grey.. The whole things feels very disappointing.. So far I've tried 15 flights, short ones around South London/London city/Heathrow and the only thing that made go "WOW" were the trees. The tree's look amazing! My settings are already on there recommended settings for 4GHz and above.. Read, then re-read their manual several times, just to make sure I had done it by the book too. Soon as I disabled the FTX in my scenery library, everything went back to smooth, no stutters, roads that line up, lights at runway level, cars that DO cross bridges, oh, and Airports on the 737MFD that actually are where they say they are. Think I will stick to GEX and UTX. Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
December 14, 201213 yr Shame you didn't try the GenX VFR Scenery by Horizon. Much better and works great with UK2000Scenery.
