Gimme an axe

I really need to chop those da... *diddely* alaskan trees.

On almost every airport/airfield there are trees in the approach path of the runway.

I don`t mind on small airfields in the bush where you fly in with a Cub.

But on big airport where you sometimes have to rely on radio navigation it`s disappointing.

I did a job winter, night and dense fog. Flying from McCarthy to Yakutat.

To land at Yakutat i had to use ILS on rwy 11 due to dense fog.

Just when the runway came in sight i hit some trees that were standing right in the Glide Slope Path.

These are the moments when i hate this unfinished part of software... If they just could fix some major issues like this before they let it die completely.

Yes, we were all a a little disappointed, but have since gotten over it and just continued to have fun!

From another point of view, you can now start increasing your crash count.

Remember the FS mantra - chant it often.

It's only a game.

It's only a game.

It's only a game.

wow how disappointing, I guess you could look at it like ( since its a game ) and most of the population has died out and you are the last pilot on earth so there are not many folk around to cut trees down.

it is really to bad development stopped on this.It is on my computer now for those time when I dont want to think about how to configure fsx as far as flight planning . Just load up and do some flying , I still love the cockpit lighting,. speaking of games I was thinking ........................

oh yea I already got the bleeding egle .! mlol

You just have to learn to make steep descents into a lot of the airports.

That's why I like the cub and Maule. They're great for these strips. I even clipped a tree in the Maule the other day during my final on a cargo mission. I must not have hit it too hard as all it did was bump the aircraft a little bit and didn't crash. Wouldn't want to do that in real life though.

Thank you.

I think of things like clipping trees as yet another demonstration of the potential flight had. The collision detection was/is very very good.

Yes I have certainly trimmed a few trees with my wingtips in Alaska, makes for some interesting , and tense, landings at times!
