However, doing this will require the resetting of all keyboard commands, even if you revert back to your original configuration file.
December 21, 201213 yr Deleting or renaming the FSX.cfg will allow a clean copy to be created automatically. However, doing this will require the resetting of all keyboard commands, even if you revert back to your original configuration file. Ouch. Well, the keyboard commands are kept in the Standard.xml file in the controls folder of the appdata roaming folder. Make a backup of that and you can replace it if it gets changed. I have several controls files for various control configurations and can swap between them as necessary. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! Thankfully, I have only had to do it a few times.
January 2, 201313 yr I have my controls programmed all through fsuipc and only a couple in fsx itself like basic views etc, So does that mean if I reset my fsx.cfg to vanilla, I will have to physically remove all joystick and keyboard commands from fsx control settings again? Unless I backup my fsx keyboard settings XML first? Many thanks. Wayne. http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART

Unless I backup my fsx keyboard settings XML first? Many thanks. Wayne. If you do not back up the XML file (I do not know the specific name), all keyboard settings will revert to defaults, and you will have to reset everything manually. Unfortunately, I have had to do this many times.
