Download Speed... Very Slow!

Featured Replies

Hello All !

I just bought today the 737 NGX Base Package.... Received my Email Recepit with a download link, however, when starting the download i am getting a download speed no higher that 19KB/s !!! This is ridicoulous for downloading a 648MB file!!! Is anybody else having the same issue? I have tried canceling and starting the download process again over and over with the same results..... Already tried deactivating all security software. Tried downloading somenthing else from somewhere else and the speed was my normal 533KB/S......

Will appreciatte if you have a light about what the problem might be as Im getting very frustrated about paying USD70.00 for a software that will take over 12 hours to download...

Thanks!!

Javier

It'll be worth the 12 hours :P

They do maintenance and updates to the site all the time; maybe you caught the site at a bad time. Try later? Probably just preparing for the 777 release.. WHAT.. no.. yeah probably.

Maybe your internet is just crap.

I believe OP said "Tried downloading somenthing else from somewhere else and the speed was my normal 533KB/S". Any more reason to use word "crap" ?

Do a TRACERT from your computer to that of the PMDG download site. You may find that the problem exists in the path being taken to the download site and not the site itself.

PMDG uses AWS (Amazon Web Services) for all their file hosting, so any download issues would not be their's per-se. I would concur with Tom and run a tracert to the download url. I may be an issue with your ISP's backhaul.

Also where are you geographically located? Depending on the service PMDG has signed up for they may not have the files hosted at Amazon data centers outside the U.S.

I'm having the same issue trying to download the 777 I just purchased.  (40 kb/s).  I usually get over almost 4 MB/s.

I also got slow speed when I first downloaded it on release day, put it down to being release day, but then after new pc had to download it again a few weeks back and it was still slow, but not 12 hours, more like 45 minutes. And that's from US to New Zealand. It will be worth it for sure!!

Totally useless reply. You didn't even read his post either.

I got the same issue and I am in China and internet here is not perfect (to be gentle). I used Iron browser and path to the file is showed there. After I used free download manager and download went great.
