Wow Dutch sound fantastic again! Will Opus be supported in the new version?

Yes, FsC could do it.

But also AivlaSoft EFB and TOPCAT!

But beside this it's relative simple: winds from 270 then e.g. 26 is in use.

The programs above don't do more as this simple guess.

I came up with the scoring algorithm for EFB - a fancy way to say "I'm doing the EFB guessing" - there's more components to consider other than winds. So when Dutch is ready to add ATC functionality, FSCaptain will be there guessing with the best of 'em.

Of course even before then, I guess your Dispatch Release could include a line to the effect - CURRENT KSFO RUNWAYS IN USE: 28L, 28R.

Hmmm......

I've discussed FSCaptain's needs and suggestions with Stephen @ Opus. They will be working on some flight planning assistance enhancement to their software soon, and we'll see.

Of course I did just wake up, so perhaps I should check their forum to see if they've posted another new update or three since last night...

For those who don't use FSCaptain (or EFB), we fetch the current METAR from the simulator, and for non-default weather engines that only set weather in a certain radius of your position we offer the ability to read METAR data from their locally stored text files so you can check the weather for any point in the world. Opus by default only writes the METARs around your current position which could leave you not knowing the weather at your destination or any of your alternates. But Opus does allow you to add your destination ICAO id -- as well as ICAO ids of up to 4 alternates -- through their application, and Opus will write out the METARs for those airfields (and local-to-them airfields IIRC) to their text file.

So to recap, Opus wx is currently supported by FSCaptain. And I'm certain that we will continue to support them as our software evolves.

This looks awesome. Thanks for starting this thread, or else I would have not known about this program in detail. I did try a demo of FSpassengers a while back - and the I was deeply impressed by the audio environment (hearing virtual pilot, flight attendant, passengers etc) the whole package was very immersive but I did see quite a bit of complaints about it. Anyway, I bookmarked the page (will try the demo in few days), but if it provides what I need - I will probably purchase it in 6 months (I want to make sure all my purchases are p3d compatible).

Thanks

-1 for FSCaptain for me. I found FSC to be uninteresting and way too cumbersome; both in install and use.

To me FSPassengers is the superior, more entertaining product.

+1 FSCaptain

The devs are really avtiec over there. Also try the demo!
