August 7, 200421 yr Eric,You sound very frustrated. Too bad. I am using AS2004 about every single flight and I am extremely pleased with it. One of the best addons I ever bought. The last version makes things even better. When was the last time you tried AS2004? And what system do you have? Best regards,Henri
August 7, 200421 yr Bait away Randy, I ain't gonna bite. If you want to get this thread locked down you'll have to think of something else. Nobody is going to get banned either, sorry guy.
August 7, 200421 yr "famous" Eric Lunston ! Born on Avsim about when Ariane's 737NG came to life .. and it is "level D simulator". Now that put interesting perspective on his other "opinions".Michael J. Michael J.
August 7, 200421 yr Shhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't blow my cover ok? How you found out is beyond me mate but you are a crafty one indeed. Maybe I can bribe you to keep this to yourself? How a free copy of you know what?
August 8, 200421 yr Eric, Eric, or is it Peter? Ok you can play games here on the main forum all to your heart's desire, but think twice about bringing games to the PMDG forum like you have tried today. See the rules change there, a one word to the wise, your negative parousia will not be tolerated, comprende'?Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. August 8, 200421 yr Hi All,Suggestion: Let's leave this one alone. Nothing constructive is going to come out of this. He already has at least one locked thread, but I cannot lock this one. He voiced his opinion and let's leave it at that.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 8, 200421 yr Well if you think I am Peter Tishma or whatever his name is I will tell you mate that I am not. I will say for the record though that Mr. Tishma recieves unsubstantiated criticism and I don't think that it is fair to him. Perhaps if AVSIM changed their tone and stopped allowing Mr. Tishma to be criticized so much here he would decide to provide them with a copy of the new Ariane 737 package for evaluation and review.Just a thought.
August 8, 200421 yr Jim,HiFi Sim announced on this thread that they will refund the purchase price of any customer who is dissatisfied with Activesky2004. I think that's a fine idea. Your customers can decide for themselves if the product meets their expectations without incurring financial risk. I think that is great news and I will leave it at that as I have already expressed my opinion.
August 8, 200421 yr Dillon,To answer your question as briefly as possible, I don't usually get stutters with the AS2004 wx update. I use AS2004 with the latest betas that they put out for review, and the only time I have problems with stutters usually happens over the threshold. However, I don't count that as a problem with the software because they allow me to turn updates off at that point in my flight and I elect not to.Basically, your mileage can and will vary with software that deals with FS wx. I think you could probably use AS2004 and not have stutters. However, there is no way anyone can gaurantee that fact. The only way to know is to try it, and that simply isn't possible with AS2004 right now.Since you own FSMetro, I think your best bet is to stick with FSMetro. I don't see any need for anyone to plink down the money for two programs that do the same thing. However, if you didn't own FSMetro (and this applies to anyone not using a 3rd party wx program), AS2004 I think is leaps and bounds ahead of any other program I have seen. I personally love it, and would recommend it to anyone. I do not experienece any issues with it not living up to the promises, as someone has mentioned in this thread.
August 8, 200421 yr In addition to what Fred has said (Fred, it's FSMeteo, not Metro ;) ), I decided to give up on FSMeteo because of the stutters when the weather was updating. I asked about these stutters before I purchased AS2004, and was told that they are not noticeable. I won't say that is the case, for me, but they are NOwhere near as significant as they were with FSMeteo. And, for me, it is usually one or two quick stutters, and that is all, unlike FSMeteo where I had to sit through 20 or 30 seconds of it. I haven't tried the newest 131 build much yet, but I have a feeling that nothing will have changed in this regard, if it hasn't gotten better. Stutters just aren't an issue with me with AS2004, and that leaves me a very satisfied customer, especially after you see the tremendous variety of weather being generated.
August 8, 200421 yr >In addition to what Fred has said (Fred, it's FSMeteo, not>Metro ;) )Oh, well, FSMeteo, FSMetro, its all the same to me :-hah
