I spent hours last night watching tutorial videos about using the Garmin 430/530. Bill is right on the mark about us not knowing beans about the capabilities. AVweb has several well done short training videos that I like.

Ray, my comment actually was that the vast majority don't even know the capabilities of the default FS9/FSX G500 and/or G295! They actually do have a tremendous amount of functionality...

 

In fact, they have about 85% of the functionality of the Garmin Trainer. B)

I understood you correctly. I was referrring to the users not knowing the capabilites of the units, not the units themselves.

Ah, okay. The sad truth about the default GPS units included with FS9/X is that all too many folks assume that since they are defaults from MS/ACES, they must be "crappy" which is frankly far from the truth! :lol:

Yep,

 

I learned a lot about the default unit with the info you packaged with the Navion expansion pack. It had a great manual on the GPS included along with all the instrument manuals.

The irony is that much of the content of that manual came nearly verbatim from the one provided by MS/ACES in the Learning Center...
