January 17, 201313 yr Here we go on our Iditarod journey. This one takes us near a popular lodge on a lake. Icon anyone? Enjoy. Thank you. January 17, 201313 yr Thx for this. Its easy. But say me - why my one aerocashe dont save? yesterday i have a 40, today i run game and see only 39 AOTD. I get Falls and this Iditarod, now i have 41.
January 17, 201313 yr Hey madgtx, You are not the first to notice this. Here's my guess: when you acquire an aerocache your current stats reflect this, however when you start Flight the next time your old stats are accessed from the Flight database and are not updated until you acquire the next one. Or perhaps it's not even necessary to acquire the next one but simply attempt to acquire a new one. I gave up trying to find a definitive answer a long time ago. Jim F.
January 17, 201313 yr So much for finger lake. Interesting aerocache, I don't think I would want to try this in the winter time. This makes 232 for me. Steve
January 17, 201313 yr Finger Lake is one of the few checkpoints without an actual nearby airstrip. However the Iditarod allway starts the first weekend in March. A nice ice-strip is prepared. Wouldn't it be nice to have the Carbon Cub or Maule with Skiis DLC !!
January 17, 201313 yr Icon, Icon! So I checked on-line and saw a map thingy that said "Go west, old man!", so I did. Got within 10 miles, flew and flew and dropped back to within 20 miles... Life gives you choices, like do I turn left or right? I choose left. Soon got back to within 10 miles, but facing some mountains and the Icon isn't that great for mountain flying. Cleared the hills and got the within 20 miles flash, so I made a u-turn and got back into range. Glad when the trigger thingy said Here I is! Did I happen to mention the Icon *can* handle a hard landing on water??? Couple more of these and I'll pass the 1,000,000 mark. Icon, I really think Icon!
January 18, 201313 yr I departed from Skwentna; after all, it's got to be somewhere around here! The aerial cableway at Talachulitna - looks more like a railroad trestle to me. A quick landing at Talachulitna while I'm here. Flying over the Skwentna River. After the Aerocache, I flew on to Rainy Pass at Puntilla Lake. I am sure we've been here before as I have documented numerous bugs in the area. Parked on the line at Rainy Pass. I am enjoying Alaska very much, yet eagerly await the Spring! Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
January 18, 201313 yr Hey Luis, I could not resist flying into Rainy Pass before going looking for Finger Lake and back tracking to the aeroeache. On the ground at Finger Lake in the good old summertime. Steve
