February 2, 201313 yr There are 101 voices for PFE + optional XPACK (with free XPACK2) broken up in regions! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 2, 201313 yr I uploaded a voice set to them around christmas time but its yet to appear on their site. PFE voices are good but the whole programme IMO is a pain to set up. Gavin Price

I understand you like PFE, but please, do another post with a review about PFE and everything you like about it. February 3, 201313 yr I understand you like PFE, but please, do another post with a review about PFE and everything you like about it. This post is about Pro ATC X Thanks Actually I had no intention of making another post on the subject of PFE in this thread, unless asked a question on it, but since you asked! With due respect this isn't a support thread, or an advertizement thread on the addon support forum, by the products Kum-ba-ya committee. it's a review thread in a general Flightsim forum. As such it's perfectly valid to make feature comparison with it's competition. That includes PFE, Radar Contact, VOXATC or even default ATC. I could of went in depth with all the myriad of features PFE has over ProATC-X. I didn't. I responded to a post on the quality of the voices of ProATC-X, I stated the problems I had with them, and that was the main reason I switched to PFE. Then a subsequent post was made on how many voices there were, I just posted what PFE had in comparison, and that was it. I don't believe that is over the top. February 3, 201313 yr Hey guys, I am looking for a ATC addon, but my use of flight sim is quite specific and linked to my PPL training...... thus I am looking for something which gives a better representation of US and/or Canadian VFR procedures, for GA.....(maybe some IFR). Everything I have looked at seems geared to the airliners and harcore IFR usage. Is this the package I could be after or would I be wasting my money? Thanks
February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member Helen, there is an online program/service that is specifically geared towards your type of training. And of course I can't think of their name at the moment, and can't seem to Google it. But you pay a monthly fee and you are guaranteed ATC service from professional real-world ATC controllers (current and retired). The service area is limited, Southern California out to Las Vegas I believe and from San Diego North up towards Santa Barbara maybe. If I was going for a PPL, that's who I would use. Hopefuly someone will know of whom I am talking about and will post their website. Clutch Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
February 3, 201313 yr Wow, really, that is amazing, I'd never have guessed that existed. I'm finding out every day just how deep the flight sim hobby can be, and some of it is really breathtaking. People performing real style ATC for the flight sim world sounds just that. ... Mind you I have no idea how I would 'connect' to that facility or indeed any way at all that FSX is used 'with others'.... but that's for another post! Now, although I would not rule the above out, if you had of said it was east coast, I would be there signing up already!

Thanks ProATC-X is currently only supports IFR, not sure if they plan to add VFR in the future. PFE does support VFR flightplans, although I haven't tried it yet in that mode, so I can't tell you how well it does. Radar Contact is also an IFR addon, and I believe VOXATC does support VFR Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 3, 201313 yr Is this the package I could be after or would I be wasting my money? ProATC/X is geared towards IFR and airliners although it should work for GA too, However, ProATC/X is made by someone who lives in Europe and so it it quite Europe oriented when it comes to procedures (like assigning SID during clearance and STAR when you get closer to your destination: in the US SID and STAR are part of the flightplan already afaik). So I would not suggest it in your specific case. Your best option would be Clutch suggestion. However I also can't think of the name of that company right now...
February 3, 201313 yr Thanks for the help guys. It sounds a great package but clearly not suited to what I'm looking for. Sorry for the hijack and thanks again!
February 3, 201313 yr Ah, here you go for that 'real' ATC: http://www.pilotedge.net/ For now it's west coast only: http://www.pilotedge...nd-service-area but I read somewhere they plan to move east too sometime. But you'll have to ask them when (and if) that will happen.
February 5, 201313 yr How do I get flight plans from external planners (FS Commander, Route Finder, etc.) in this program?
February 5, 201313 yr How do I get flight plans from external planners (FS Commander, Route Finder, etc.) in this program? For PROATC-X you don't, unless it's a FSINN or ICAO flightplan. You have to import by text. Not really a problem, just copy the text route in the clipboard from FS Commander etc... (I use FSBUILD). Select the "FlightPlan/Import Flightplan-From Text. A box will appear, copy and paste your plan and click import. Then it will appear in your list of flightplans the you can edit. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

Doesn't Route Finder (free version) or Vroute create ICAO routes? Departure Airport -> SID -> waypoint -> airway -> waypoint ... -> STAR -> Destination Airport Do I need to copy this line and paste it? If so, I still do not understand where I have to paste that. Thanks again for your effort!

Thanks again for your effort! Yep they do indeed. In fact you can copy Route Finder or Vroutes text routings into simroutes, etc, so it sounds like this sim takes them in the same way. Pretty versatile being able to just enter a text routing, without having to worry about specific file formats etc.
