Far as your system, I'd get an ASRock MB instead ( just cause I think Asus is overrated), and ditch the 1600 mem for some fastest the MB you are buying allows. I'd also ditch the Soundblaster and use the onboard MB sound chipset instead.

February 4, 201313 yr Careful with that non- "K" processor. What you want is something like the i5 3570K clocked to 4.5GHz. Agreed with the ram. Ivy bridge (CPU) loves fast memory. February 4, 201313 yr I just bought the parts to make a new PC including I7 3700K, cooled with Thermaltake Extreme water cooler, GTX680, Gigabyte G1.Sniper3 mobo and a couple of SSDs. Using the Gigabyte provided Ntune utility I have it clocked at 4.68Ghz without going near the BIOS. I have only had it in operation for a couple of days but it goes like a rabbit and I am very pleased with the results. I say this only to let you know that a fast machine can be assembled from shop bought parts quite easily. Come and join the club of happy campers  John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.

February 6, 201313 yr Impressive. I always read the non K series didn't clock well. I guess if you know what you're doing it helps. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
