February 13, 201313 yr I recently improved my setup with 3 monitors and set the cfg file to wide - true. The two issues i have are if I run at the bezel corrected resolution I get the spining cursor and also when flying at night the landing lights are really blurry making it hard to distinguish the papi and runway lights. Please help.
February 13, 201313 yr Hello tallen32, r u running on nvidia surround>? I also had both these problems and solved as follows Lights I replaced my default halo.bmp with a file I found on the web, it may of been the one called something like "Nicks Light fix|" , but there are several out there on the web, its size though is 171 KB when the default one is 342KB. If you pm me I can always email it to you. You place it in \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture then I added the following to my cfg RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.70 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.7 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.9 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.8 This works for me on my set up , but the "AI" aircraft lights are a bit small, and I leave labels on to pick them up in the day. If I get them visible I get the BLOBS on the runways so have compromised and left lables on , its about getting the right values in the cfg that looks good for yours. Flashing Cursor I have fixed this for all default aircraft by getting file by George V. Trovato The read me in that states " Panel Fixes/Adjustments for Triple-Wide screen resolutions. By George V. Trovato These are updated Panels for all default MS aircraft, including those from Deluxe and Acceleration. Helicopters as well. They are updated for compatibility with triple- wide screen resolutions for users of TripleHead2Go and ATI's EyeFinity. These should prevent the issue of the main panel not appearing as well as causing the 'wait' cursor to come up when the main panel doesn't display. All panel windows have been resized and repositioned to try and take maximum advantage of triple-wide screen configurations. These files are not needed, nor are they recommended for users that are not running triple-wide resolutions. Before proceeding, back up the panel.cfg file from each default aircraft, as well as the MiniPanel.cfg file from the Gauges folder. Then, copy the 'SimObjects' and the 'Gauges' folders into your main FSX installation folder, overwriting existing files. The file that goes into your 'Gauges' folder controls the default 'mini-panel' display for aircraft that don't have a mini-panel configured in their respective panel file." Worked perfectly for me with my surround setup and now the 2d panels come up no problem and no flashing cursor. For add on planes you will have to contact the developer for a alternative panel.cfg, PMDG and quality wings provided them to me very swiftly, they are resized to fit 3 screens, it worked for me. #Another option I am told is on payware aircraft is by modifying the panel.cfg to change all areas where window_size = 1.000, xxx to window_size = 0.333, xxx but i have not tried that it only seemed to happen on the 2d views so if you never use them and only use VC its not a problem, but if you dont apply the fix and select one by mistake watch your frames plummet! Hope this helps you, but if you need any more info just shout Regards 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
March 17, 201313 yr Author Will those panel fixes help with non default planes. I have flight 1s Cessna mustang and it has problems with my 3 monitor setup.
March 17, 201313 yr Hi tallen Bozdog is right on all he has said. But, if you have aircraft that are not from the big producers (who will supply an amended panel.cfg) you will have to do it yourself. This link may help http://www.gatwick-fsg.org.uk/techtips.aspx?SubMenuItem=techtips. Both my tips on this subject should be a comprehensive guide for you. i will be glad to help if you have problems. March 17, 201313 yr There is a way around the spinning cursor problem..I am not home in Dallas. I am here in Boise, ID. So I can't get to the PC Each of those aircraft that gives you the spinning cursor (that eats up 10-15 FPS) can be fixed by changing parameters in its panel.cfg For PMDG aircrafts, e-mail Ryan at PMDG support, he would send panel.cfg for all PMDG Aircraft. for the MD80 I posted the panel, cfg in MD80 thread in F1 support Aerosoft's Airbus Ext is an easier fix, In the Panel.cfg, you need to comment out all the "windows06-09 I think (The last few windows) except the FMC thingi leave that alone. You need the FMC popup. Not sure what I did for the Cessna Mustang. I don't have the problem so I must have done something. But it is solvable for the most part. The problem is caused by the 2D popups. If you can avoid displaying the 2d at any time, the cursor should be fine.. but if you can't, then you either have to adjust it or completely disable those (sometimes useless) 2D popups. March 17, 201313 yr I posted the Panel.cfg for the F1 Cessna Mustang. I used remote access software to log into my home PC. This software is extremely slow... But I managed to use it to e-mail the file over to me by logging into my home PC I posted it here. http://mustang.flight1.net/forums/topic2928_post19719.html#19719 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

I need some help with your fix for the airbus panel.cfg change. I have gone to the SimObjects ...... Airplanes.....Aersoft Airbus X A320 Extended CFM NEO...Panel...panel.cfg. Need help finding the correct lines to // out?? I see windows 03 to 09 listed with nothing in them and a note saying they are for free addons. I // them anyway with no change. December 1, 201312 yr I need some help with your fix for the airbus panel.cfg change. Aerosoft changed these with their last update... the latest update has Windowsxx differently. Try this. Comment out Window02-Window14. or at least Windows10-14. [Window Titles] Window00=Main Panel Window01=Left MCDU //Window02=DEBUG //Window03= //Window04= //Window05= //Window06= //Window07= //Window08= //Window09= //Window10=Horizontally Panel Bar //Window11=Vertical Panel Bar //Window12=Checklist Info //Window13=Horizontally Wing View Bar //Window14=Vertical Wing View Bar Leave the Window00 and Window01 alone And then below that you could also do this to display the MCDU is reazonable shape when you display it on your three monitor setup so its not stretched out, [Window01] file=MCDUIMG.bmp Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=430,726 window_size_ratio=0.250 position=7 visible=1 ident=10021 //window_size= 0.350, 0.750 window_size= 0.100, 0.700 //window_pos= 0.650, 0.250 window_pos= 0.850, 0.140 sizeable=1 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

December 1, 201312 yr Hello Manny Thanks for the help. I stayed up late last night and tried these changes with similar results when just trying your changes now. I did the following //window00=Main Panel //window10=horizontal Panel Bar //window12=Checklist Info //window13=Horizontal Wing View Bar and have good results so far.. no CTD and good fps. When I tried to keep the checklist Info line I got the spinning cursor and frame drop. My fps have double plus some with these changes. Never made any changes to the Base ...Fallback...panel.cfg. Wonder if changes need to be done here as well.
