Eaglesofts Cessna Jets, which is best buy

Featured Replies

I'm considering buying a buisnessjet and as far as a know only Eaglesoft have them.I wonder about the difference between Cessna Citation X and Cessna Citation II/SP. Is X more expensive because of all the eyecandy or offer it something more? I have read that it have no fully moddeled FMC. And also that II has none at all and this is precisely like thereal thing. Also was the II model finished after the X model? So which of these Cessnas are best buy?

They are both great buys--just depends on the type of flying you like to do. I have the C-II--a FMC isn't that important to me. And still to come is the CJ-1--coming from Eaglesoft it's a sure bet to be a winner.-John

I own the X, II and 400XP and love them all.....the Citation II is quickly growing on me as my true favorite. Like all the other eaglesoft products its flies extremely well, hand fly able all the way up to cruise and through an instrument approach. Eaglesoft isn't going for the "full" package of FMS, highly indepth systems, instead they pick to make a product that is great on frame rates, easy to use and life like FDEs which sets them a part from the rest. Their products can only get better as they have proven to date.

I have the Beechjet, the Hawker, and the Citation II. The Beech and Hawker are identical, for all practical purposes, so I keep the stock panel in the Beech and the Jet Line 4 in the Hawker, for variety. I use the Beech as a T-1 Jayhawk sometimes for flying MTR's, and the Hawker for medium range routes. The Cessna II is a fine little jet. It makes you want to fly it by hand as much as you can. It trims up nicely and has all you really need to navigate yourself anywhere you want to go. The CII is only marginally slower than the Beech/Hawker, and it has longer legs. It is a bit more forgiving than the Beech, and can handle shorter runways. The CII is old tech (not bad - just old), except for the Sandel 3800 (I think that is right) EHSI, which is a great gauge by itself, while the Beech/Hawker are new tech, and the X is leading edge. The CJ1 will be new tech, too.If I were looking at buying just one, I would heavily consider the CII. I have the Jet Line 2 in my CII, but I use the Sandel in some of my other planes, so it did not go to waste.Have fun - you will probably enjoy whatever you get. You will probably end up with more than one, anyway, so don't beat yourself up too much trying to decide. I like the Beech/Hawker and the CII, and I use them all a lot.

I have the II and the X, I Love the Citation X. Nothing like cruising at FL510 at Mach .92

The X is the one you want. Yes no fully functional FMC but virtually everything else is including the APU. The interior is gorgeous. The ability to use the lite model as well if your system is taxed is a nice feature.I have all their jets and consider each one an excellent addition to my GA hangar.

they are both great but personally i have a leaning towards the II, but then the X must be the Ultimate private jet unless you can buy a used Concorde or VC10 nothing will be quicker :)

I thought I replied to this one already. Must be getting old...Anyway, the JL2 has pros and cons in the CII. There are probably shades of realness with both sets of gauges. Try both - it isn't hard to do. I experiment with all the RXP products in most of my planes, though I usually end up with something close to the original design. Every now and then, it is fun to have a heavily modified panel for a while, and I'll bet there are some out there in real life. I sometimes use a full glass panel on one of my HU-16's, for example, as a change from the usual steam powered gauges. Heck, it is a simulator, and I might as well simulate. Have some Real Fun - Steve

I own both, but prefer the Citation X.

Both are great. The Citation II is great for those short hops into smaller fields. It is great if you don't have a lot of time. The X is also amazing. As others mentioned, FL510, Mach .9+. Getting from LA to New York in 3 hours is...nice. :) They are both great, although they really are two totally different aircraft as far as their role.

Here is how I rate Eaglesoft's Biz jets1. Cessna Citation X2. Beechjet 400A or Hawker 400XP (basically it's the same plane)3. Cessna Citation II4. Premier 1The Cessna Citation II could be higher for me, but I haven't found a livery I like for it yet so I don't really fly it that much.
