March 1, 201313 yr Hi, sorry to bother you here but the aerosoft guys don't seem to be helpful at all in their forums...I have a texture problem at this airport, just have a look for yourself, maybe you also bought the scenery and are a bit upset about it know like I am. Do you have any solution for that what you can see in my screenshots? I mean, it's not really usual to have squared grey trees in Lithuania, isn't it? Cu & thanks in advance Felix
March 1, 201313 yr Hi, no problems here... Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
March 1, 201313 yr Author Hi, thanks for the answer. But me neither used the aerosoft tool for the seasons...I don't know what to do. I have no additional freeware scenery installed in this area... ...by the way: I don't know any seasonal tool for Aerosoft Vilnius...didn't came with my download, it's the newest version 1.01...
March 2, 201313 yr Hi, Am having a similar problem with Aerosoft Luxembourg (not as bad as yours - just square white trees) and have a thread going in the Aerosoft support forum right now but no solution yet. Shaun from Aerosoft has been trying his best to help though! I also have Aerosoft Vilnius (and almost every other Aerosoft scenery!) and they are all ok! Bill
March 2, 201313 yr This is caused by a lack of specific tree textures, either in FS9 itself or add-ons.
March 2, 201313 yr Check to see if you have Gerrish Gray's trees library installed. The file name is trees_v3.zip on Flightsim.
March 2, 201313 yr This is caused by a lack of specific tree textures, either in FS9 itself or add-ons. Check to see if you have Gerrish Gray's trees library installed. The file name is trees_v3.zip on Flightsim. Yes, I had guessed that was a tree texture problem. I have had trees_V3 installed - also redownloaded and reinstalled it in case any of the files had become corrupted but the problem persists and the very odd thing is that it is only present at ELLX and, so far, I have not found it anywhere else in the world! I have also checked to see if it was a seasonal problem but it is present no matter what season I select. I have tried, on the Aerosoft support forum, to see if I could get any information on the actual tree file(s) involved but to no avail as yet. Bill
March 3, 201313 yr Hi Guys, I've had this non textured tree problem as well but quite some time ago and even in some of my existing addon (airport) sceneries which did not have this problem before. My solution was to copy/paste all of these tree library textures, e.g. from the Gerish Grey and possibly other tree library collections, to the main FS9 texture folder. Another thing.......There should only be one single tree library of each collection in the main FS9 Scenery/Generic folder. So do a search through your whole system and delete any others with the same name, leaving only one of each in that Scenery/Generic folder. It is my experience that tree (and other) libraries can sometimes have unpredictable results especially when there are more than one of the same collection floating around in other addon sceneries but which have different scenery priorities. Advice: If you do find multiple tree libraries with the same name outside your main Scenery/Generic folder, you might want to rename their ".bgl" extensions to e.g. ".XXXX" as a try out first, before actually deleting them. The above ONLY concernes generic type TREE LIBRARIES used by certain addon sceneries as a general rerplacement for seasonal default trees. There can be many more .bgl files with "tree" in their names but these are usually very specific for the scenery concerned, e.g. jungle, tropical trees, plants, etc. and should therefore not be touched. Good luck Hans
March 3, 201313 yr I wonder why an Aerosoft add-on should install freeware tree libraries, and I mean to remember AS Vilnius didn't (I install every add-on in a sandbox first to see what it does on my system). But, however, I actually did search for duplicates of such libraries some time ago and deleted all but one of each, how Hans recommends. I don't use Aerosofts season tool, too, because this tool comes with the FSX version only, as I understand the manual. There's another fact I remember: I had missing textures in sceneries of another developer, although all the files were in their places. The developers support ended up in sending me replacement textures because this phenomenom happened, as was explained, "at some systems having a problem with texture size". Unfortunately, this kind of problem is only curable with the developer, indeed. Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
March 3, 201313 yr Thanks Hans and Harald, I will try your suggestions. I think this is going to be quite an undertaking as I have just done a search for tree files and there are lots of them everywhere including many duplicates!! I too thought it a little unusual that Aerosoft would install freeware tree libraries, but I am still unsure whether the involved files are freeware or otherwise as I do not know the identity of the files and no one, not even Shaun from Aerosoft, seems to have that information. I am currently doing a fresh reinstall of FS9 so am checking each addon after it is installed and it is of interest that I have just today discovered a similar problem with the FRF Long Beach KLGB freeware scenery, but so far this is the only other area that is affected as far as I know. Bill
March 4, 201313 yr The above ONLY concernes generic type TREE LIBRARIES used by certain addon sceneries as a general rerplacement for seasonal default trees I know that this may be a stupid question, but which are the generic type tree libraries? Are these the ones that came with the default FS9 (I can only find 5 treesXXbmp files there on searching) or are these addons? Bill
March 4, 201313 yr They are add-ons. They come with many freeware add-on sceneries. But, by the way, Vilnius X does not use them indeed; I tested it in the sandbox again yesterday. But I didn't find out which textures actually contain the Vilnius trees. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
March 5, 201313 yr Author Hi, just for all to know: Aerosoft wrote me today that they forwarded the problem with Vilnius to the developers so that they can release an update. Cu
March 6, 201313 yr I've had this non textured tree problem as well but quite some time ago and even in some of my existing addon (airport) sceneries which did not have this problem before. I have done all of that now (and there were A LOT of tree libraries scattered everywhere throughout FS9!!) and I was hoping for the best but the problem sadly persists at ELLX and KLGB as before. I guess there is no solution for this in sight without actually knowing which tree files are involved so I will try not to obsess about it and am doing my best to put it out of my mind now but it is frustrating! Hi, just for all to know: Aerosoft wrote me today that they forwarded the problem with Vilnius to the developers so that they can release an update. Cu Glad to know that Vilnius might be solved for you! Bill
February 10, 201412 yr Author Hi there, finally I found a solution for the problem. The tree texture-names in the main fs2004 texture were changed by a programme. It turned out that this programme changed the texture names so that fs couldn't load them anymore. So if you have the same or similar problem just check the tree texture names... Hope this will help somehow! B) Cheers ORomaYeti
