I'm finished with current 777-for-FSX-developers' attitudes towards the flightsimming community ...

This is what you'll need to make FS9 look almost as good as FSX:

1. REX Environmental Textures (play around with options until you find what you like)

2. ENB Bloom effect (with this you'll need the brightest sky texture you can find to offset the darkening effect. If need be I'll give you my configuration for use with the latest version of ENB to make sure your setup is looking right)

3. Flight1's Ground Environment (latest version)

4. Zinertek's Water and Airport environment texture packages (there's two)

5. As much airport scenery as you can buy from places like Aerosoft.

This will get you started in the right direction. From there:

1. Ultimate Traffic for FS9

2. GA Traffic freeware

3. WOAI to used in conjunction with Ultimate Traffic (disabling duplicate airlines via Ultimate Traffic's utility)

Could you also send me the ENB bloom?

Besides I thought in REX there are already textures for water and airport environment such as taxiways ? Are those 2 better?

Zinertek has the best water that looks similar to what you get in FSX (minus the reflections). Zintertek's Airport Environment not only handles runway textures but rather the default look of buildings. I actually like REX's runway/taxiway textures but the default buildings around the airport need help, that's where Zinertek comes in.

When you say ENB Bloom are you talking about my configuration or the utility itself?

Both if possible since I don't know if the ENB I'm having is the latest or not :D Thanks again!

Will look into those 2 addons. Since I still haven't invest much into FSX.

Thanks a lot, Dillon, for being concise and constructive. Seems like I'm going to give REX a try first, hoping for an one-in-all textures improvement.

I may consider your further suggestions after that.

Aerosoft airports are a very good idea since they still (80% of releases) come with dual installers - you don't have to pay again for your airport, in case you switch flightsims.

Yes, and I may enhance my addon traffic by some freeware traffic, too.

Again, thanks to all who posted their suggestions here!

No problem... You kept asking and no one was giving you a straight answer. I can't say this enough but TrackIR with CH Yoke/Peddles is a must as well.

Staying on topic is difficult for most people (including me!) and regarding a topic from the t. starter's point of view is close to impossible for mankind ...

Yes, TrackIR, the yoke (CH, of course!) and some pedals are right with me. (The PSS VC is quite cartoonish, not bad for a change, after all, it's still a game).

So - thanks again!

P.S.(S): You may have to pay closer attention to Aerosoft airports in the future: Quality is changing with every new release, so that "quality guaranteed" may not hold true for every single airport anymore. Plus, the FS9 versions more and more often lack some features of the FSX versions (animations for example). The latter, unfortunately, is true for other developers, as well (see FlyTampa Dubai, for example).

What happened to AVSIM

Hi,

I can only second in the recommendation to buy as much sceneries as you can get. I make extensive use of the certain sale actions at Simmarket or Aerosoft.

By the way, imho the quality of their sceneries isn't declining in general, but depends widely on the single developer. I am having in mind newer airports as USSS or EDDL, which are outstanding.

Have fun

... so I'm going to - as far as the Boeing 777 is concerned - revert to FS9 for my T7-flying (PSS 777 Professional).

I'm not going to discuss those (two) developers' attitudes (and neither my attitude towards their attitudes) - at least not in THIS thread.

I had put some 60 Euros (read alternatively: some 80 US Dollars) aside for the purchase of a FSX B777. Now this money is going to be invested into some pleasant environment for my PSS 777 in FS9 (scenery-wise, addon airport-wise and the like).

Any suggestions on how I could improve my FS9 to cater for some more atmospheric T7 flights? Thanks in advance for bothering!

This one is good enough for me... There is an excellent merge for POSKY with PSS and I love the PSS panel... Same guys just had a very long thread on completing some additional variants of the 777 for use with the PSS panel... I like good planes - but - I'm not buying $80.00 to $100.00 planes for MSFS and I've spent a fortune on payware... That buys a lot of AVGAS even at $6.00 a gallon...

I never meant to imply "decline". EDNY is only a bit older than EDDL and one of my favourites.

Simply PM me - I can provide a link to another AVSIM topic and an explanation of my own.

So POSky + POSky = POSky +1   ...   should give it a try ...

Scott, can you share where you got the info for the merge? I did follow some merge but the A/C didn't go well, crusing with up and down nose and swinging side to side when capture ILS.

Hi Folks,

Yeah - I downloaded the original package off the virtual Singapore Airlines site years ago - I've used it a bunch and didn't notice any real issues... It certainly made my use of the Posky model much more enjoyable... LOL - you have to admit - while the PSS panel was a work of art - the actual plane they included left a lot to be desired...

The newer variants of the merge were posted in a thread here - in the 2004 forum - not too long ago... I believe the original poster was "boeingsta" or something like that... I'll see if I can find it... Honestly - I haven't thoroughly tested any of the newer ones though...

That American paint is one of the best bare metal textures I've ever come across...

Here - you can try this: http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?/topic/392445-NEW!-POSKY/SkySpirit-PSS-Boeing-777-200ER-Merge-Packages!

Thanks I will look into it. Seems that people over there also have the same problem as I am.

So that merge is only for the newest SkySpirit 777 no VC ? I hope that I can find the "old" merge that has the VC. I usually use VC when taxi take off and landing so I really need it.

I'm pretty sure my model was from when POSKY still existed and uses the VC...

Sorry for my misunderstanding. Maybe I was biased by reading the thread about Aerosofts LIRF scenery in their forum...
