March 18, 201313 yr this monday, France President and EADS will meet to finalize Lion Air's mega order for more than 200 320. It is unclear if Lion has also inked NEO as well.. but I bet they have. This is not the first mega order Lion has booked, In 2011, Barrack Obama and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met in Bali to take parts in Lion Air Boeing deal for 231 737 NG, 29 739 + 201 MAX recently Lion Air launched its service in Malaysia (as a response to Air Asia expansion in Indonesia?), the hybrid called MALINDO. Soekarno Hatta is smaller than Changi or KLIA, it has only 2 runways. I wonder where they'll put all the crowds. days ago, THY put an order of 117 Airbus 320, by the end of this march, Airbus has been received more than 2000 A320. For the first time in 6 years, Boeing outperformed Airbus in 2012 by the number of units ordered. I doubt Seattle will repeat the success this year. Lion has recorded history not only for Indonesian budget carrier but also for both Seattle and Toulouse Anyhow, where did the MONEY come from?
March 18, 201313 yr Anyhow, where did the MONEY come from? How is this a surprise to you? Indonesia is the largest economy in South Asia and has a population of 238 million people. Indonesia has a mixed economy made up of natural resources and an export nation. It is also part of the G-20 Major Economies. Simple supply and demand rule and Lion Air isn't able to keep up with the demand for services in this region. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 18, 201313 yr Anyhow, where did the MONEY come from? Maybe some that that 3 billion per day ol Ben Bernanke is having printed to "stimulate the US economy" is going to Indonesia instead  Chris Sunseri
March 18, 201313 yr "stimulate the US economy" is going to Indonesia instead Nope, what is happening is the nations with the natural resources have been booming while other nations have hit hard economic times. Australia and Canada are good examples of export nations with a high dollar, Indonesia is just doing the same. USA used to export more but now export things like Movies, Music, Video Games, Software, Television....(culture) etc, but no one really buys there domestic products any more with few exceptions. I used to be a Mechanical Engineer back home but that job has now been moved overseas, and so have I. World economy has just been shifting and Indonesia has been apart of the boom times due to its international trade. Lion Air is just growing at the same pace as its regional economy demands it to and will also expand on international routes as well. You got to fly the people somehow, and they got the money to pay for it now. My POV has always been...If the USA wants to stimulate it's economy, then start making things again to export, then maybe I can come home and work at some point B) Edit: I was just researching Indonesia some more and, it currently has the highest growth rate of Net Worth Individuals.....So if you want to become a millionaire, move to Indonesia  Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 18, 201313 yr So that's 200 for Lion air, 117 for THY, 100 for LH that's more than 400 Airbus Aircraft ordered in the space of 5 days!!! Also that disgrace of an airline from Ireland (a country that already has a far superior airline in every regard - may I add ) will be officially ordering their 200 B737-800 aircraft tomorrow when An Taoiseach Enda Kenny meets President Obama. <_< All these orders, such large figures of money being spent, 30 years ago ordering more than 20 of a type was considered an enormous order, now 20 almost seems not worth talking about. Great to see the A320 selling like hot cakes though, they really are raking in the orders with the NEO. March 18, 201313 yr My post about the 3 billion per day we're burning away was all about sarchasm Matthew. I just couldn't resist!! Chris Sunseri
March 19, 201313 yr My post about the 3 billion per day we're burning away was all about sarchasm Matthew. I just couldn't resist!! No worries mate....the USA economy makes my blood boil as well. Would really like to see it rebound. My last job back home was in 2006 Manufacturing Engineering for Cummins Diesel. I don't predict that market making a come-back anytime soon. It is unfortunate is all. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 19, 201313 yr Ah Okay, Export Credit Agencies owned by Germany and France financed 98% of the purchase. 234 units to be exact, for both neo and current model. Now who's gonna fly the gigantic fleet? Indonesia is short of pilots, approx 400-600 pilots needed to fulfill the demands. And that is for last year only.. I have read enormous threads on Pprune that some foreign pilots are interested in taking parts of Lion's ambitious expansion in the south pacific region, (excluding Australia). A big thank you.. Money is coming to town !!! Lets work lads..European financial crisis is to be saved from a poor, I mean, a developing country.. ] However, this Tuesday Boeing CEO will announce Ryan Air's order of 117 NG in New York in responding to.. ah well..
March 19, 201313 yr Now who's gonna fly the gigantic fleet? That's the other big question. Expats will have to fill the void. A big thank you.. Money is coming to town !!! Lets work lads..European financial crisis is to be saved from a poor, I mean, a developing country.. Truth is most countries are a developing country....Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand Germany England Japan....etc etc etc. They just never stop developing. Indonesia is just jumping on the band wagon is all. For me they will be the future regional economic superpower in the part of the world that I live in. Well the deal has now been inked, 175 Beoing 737-800's, 100 for expansion and 75 to replace older models. http://www.rte.ie/news/business/2013/0319/377316-ryanair-deal-to-buy-175-new-boeing-planes/ Regards, Ró. March 19, 201313 yr Unfortunately the U.S. government doesn't use many import fees to level the playing field for the American worker. We have no choice but to be stuck with poor quality junk from China and places like Indonesia. The American corporation could care less where their money comes from. Therefore, they outsource labor. This country is in danger of economic self destruction. Our government doesn't have the good sense to protect itself from economic downfall. They only print money and issue debt.
March 19, 201313 yr It would be fun to fly in that area of the world but I don't do crystal meth so I don't make the qualifications Chris Miller
March 19, 201313 yr It would be fun to fly in that area of the world but I don't do crystal meth so I don't make the qualifications Yea I heard about that one too....LOL Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 20, 201313 yr It would be fun to fly in that area of the world but I don't do crystal meth so I don't make the qualifications No you aint qualified, you must afford the flying school and type rating before starting to start with such robust civilian jet, which Im sure, you have been aware of. That meth, It's been an issue and embarrassment, cant argue with that. But that's another issue. This summmer. 350 XWB will have its maiden flight, whilebuggy 787 is still whining for a good Japanese battery.. the world leaves seattle for toulouse this year
