Playing around with layer masks in Photoshop to simulate a shallow focus

 

 

 

I'm usually not too fan of screenshots editing (often too much sharpening, over-saturation and contrast). But you did a great job and the effect is very subtle (especially in the second one). Nice !

Thanks for the comments! I agree that in the first pic the effect is overdone. I'm just learning how to use Photoshop so I'm like a kid with a new toy.
