March 26, 201313 yr Moderator I'm surprised no-one has mentioned vRoute. http://www.vroute.net/ There are two versions. A free one with thousands of stored routes validated each cycle against real-world databases and... A payware version that includes a fuel planner for many default and payware aircraft. Plans can be generated in many different formats. I've been using it for years and would recommend it. Ray (Cheshire, England). March 26, 201313 yr FlightSim Commander 9.2. Absolutely, hands down the best flight planning software available at any price. I have F.O.C., and it is so complex that I haven't been able to figure out how to use it and I don't see much help in the website or anywhere else. With FSC9.2, you can export your flightplan to FS9, FSX, X-Plane, PMDG, iFly and many other applications. Also you can get flight planes from ProATC, vroute, routefinder or other programs and just copy/paste the text string into FSC and it will instantly build your flight plan on the map and make it available to save in all formats. Also you can view weather right on the map. It is also a moving map, which I really don't use that feature. Robert Yunque
March 26, 201313 yr I have FSBuild, FSC and earlier also used FSNavigator. My standard work tools were FSBuild that I used to create the routes and then using FSC as a moving map. Nowadays I only use VRoute for assembling the route and then enroute charts that I have on rhe iPad. I wrote "assemble" because Vroute doesn't actually create routes from scratch. But it has a large database of realworld and user uploaded routes that you can pick from plus that when flying in the US I use Flightaware to find routes that I then paste into Vroute and let ir create and export the files. But PFPX is around the corner and I am sure I will get it. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

March 26, 201313 yr Ray, sorry but I don't quite follow. PFPX. is a standalone software for creating flightroutes so unless I totally misunderstand it you can use it without even having a flightsimulator installed, eg like you can do with FSBuild. So it is not dependent on what FS version you use. Like they say on their site http://www.flightsimsoft.com/pfpx/ "can be used with any flightsimulator" Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------

I didn't read all the small print. :fool: Ray (Cheshire, England). March 26, 201313 yr I have F.O.C and FSC9.2 and I have to say I like FSC better and Ill tell you why:FOC is modeled after the FPL software that American, delta and continental use. It literally has everything they have, modified for the sim which makes it an extremely complicated planner to use. I would spend 1-2.5 hours imputing information just to get the aircraft correct then another hour planning the flight. If you are looking for a planner as detailed as it then go ahead.I also have FSC9.2 and I love it, it is much simpler to use than FOC but still incorporates alot of the same things. You can do NAT tracks and PACOT tracks, have Vatsim data, it also has the moving map and GPS feature which I find very helpful for aircraft that don't have FMC's and also just as a general tool to see where you are, how far to go and whatnot. It also displays other AI aircraft as well as VATSIM aircraft and IVAO (if you choose to display them). So, both planners are excellent, FOC will definitely have a much much bigger learning curve than FSC.Hope this helps!Remy Mermelstein777-300 FS Pilot I really ought to check out FOC. I had never heard of it before, but I am going to school this summer to get a dispatcher license so I think I could have an interesting time with it.
