September 24, 200421 yr Thought I'd share a screenshot of the panel mod to add the ADF indicator and switch the audio panel for the included KMA28 audio panel. I have included the edits below for anyone else wanting to make these same changes.http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...e3f0ef57458.jpgA perfect approach into KHIO ILS12 at minimumsTo make these mods open the panel.cfg file with notepad and edit these lines:Under (window00) add:gauge21=Cessna!ADF, 821,704,147,147Under (window01) change:gauge05=F1_C172R!Audio Panel, 0,0,682 to this:gauge05=F1_C172R!KMA28 Audio Panel, 0,0,682Under (Vcockpit01) add:gauge30=Cessna!ADF, 848,556,152,168Under (Vcockpit02) change:gauge05=F1_C172R!Audio Panel, 24,149,300,56 to this:gauge05=F1_C172R!KMA28 Audio Panel, 24,149,300,56Make a backup of your modified panel because each time you use the configuration manager it will overwrite the panel file back to default.Enjoy this fantastic new release,Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
September 24, 200421 yr Here are some additional screen shots from Flight1's support forum (simforum):http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...p?TID=8650&PN=1http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...p?TID=8651&PN=1
September 24, 200421 yr It really is a good plane!! Absolutely realistic dynamics and the pressure when taking off is just about right. You should already start pulling near 40-50 knots and try to rotate around 55-60, then it will take off correctly.I have a problem though... I cant see timer, announciator panel nor QNH indicator on the altimeter!? What could that be... :-8
September 24, 200421 yr You might have had some files corrupted either in the download or during the installation. Try re-installing, if you still have the problem post over at flight... wait, I just saw you already posted over at the flightone support forum. If you find the download was corrupt you can download a second time and do a re-install with your product key.Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
September 24, 200421 yr Haven't succeeded in finding any records on the production of the R model. Here is a side view of an R NAVII: http://www.westwindaviation.com/sales_N9581G.pdfAnd Flight1's R:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92174.jpgGreg

September 24, 200421 yr Commercial Member I think the dihedral looks fine in that pic there - please let's not get into a stupid debate about this like there was when the DF Cardinal came out... You're represting a 3D object on a 2D surface and that medium can do funny things at certain angles... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 24, 200421 yr Ooooh, '98 model with autopilot for 92K. I guess the plane has a lot of hours though. Still....anyone want to go in 50/50? We'll split the sunny, weekend time right down the middle. Do you really need that new car?
September 24, 200421 yr I dont want to think that the download was corrupt because then it should not have installed at all. But I will certainly try.
September 24, 200421 yr ZaneThe pitch up after rotation can "often" be due to ground effect hence your problems with the Mooney which has laminar flow wings which are also long and glider like.Breaking through the ground effect barrier layer is like popping a cork out of a champagne bottle. In reverse landing a mooney with any excess speed will have you floating for ever in ground effect.CheersPeter
September 24, 200421 yr "please let's not get into a stupid debate about this like there was when the DF Cardinal came out... You're represting a 3D object on a 2D surface and that medium can do funny things at certain angles..."Ryan--I'd hardly call the debate stupid--there is nothing wrong with making observations about a product, and designing aircraft myself I hardly need to be told about the issues representing 3d objects on 2d surfaces. If a model doesn't look close to real on my screen, to heck with trying to adhere to 3-views--I will exaggerate dihedral or make a window smaller to compensate for such issues.I still think the conduct of some involved*, especially the snide remarks in certain forums where I was normally absent, was very poor. People can express opinions about products without posts like yours calling then "stupid debates". And I still find it laughable that Dreamwings increased the dihedral of a model that they claimed there was nothing wrong with, just to appease a "handful" of stupid debaters :)-John*Edit--and just to note this is a comment regarding Ryan's reference to the 177 debate. Since I don't own the 172, I can't really comment other than to say what the screenshots have looked like. However, some shots are taken at a "wider angle" than others to capture more of the aircraft. In that case Ryan is right on--things can get pretty distorted and funny lookin'
September 24, 200421 yr Boy are you telling me, and if you hold it off the ground (like a Cessna) you end up really "planting" it onto the ground when you finally get the wing stall. Gonna take a few more landings to get used to that one.BTW Nice to hear from you Peter.Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
September 24, 200421 yr I might also add that in real life upon rotation you get a seat of the pants feeling which is totally absent in the sim, hence you continue pulling on the yoke/stick/whatever you are using and overrotate. This is something that even forcefeedback wouldn't be able to simulate cause it is not the force in the controls that makes you let off your pull, it's the g force felt through the seat. Now how much does that 6 degrees of movement platform cost?Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
September 24, 200421 yr Hi everybodyJust bought this about 30 minutes ago and am very very impressed with it so far. To be honest the fact its a C172 makes it worth the purchase, its my favourite plane! but what clinched the deal was the flight ones panel pictures which look fantastic. I also waned to see what the panel was like since i'm building a full replica of this plane using simkits's stuff. I had my panels laser cut last week and wanted to see if they were powder-coated. The Flight one's panel is so good you can actually see the coat of paint on the panel! It's that crystal clear. The VC is excellent. The flight dynamics are also very well done, it's very smooth and fluid in the air, very forgiving just like the real plane. The sounds are well done too. My only negative point is that some parts of the exterior model don't seem to look quite right, but its a very minor point. To be honest its the interior that most interests me and Flight One have done a first class job.I've trawled through hundreads of photos of the real panel and am hopefully (fingers crossed) meeting up with someone who owns a C172 in the UK so that i can get dimensions for my canopy. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92211.jpgI have never bought from Flight One before but am very happy customer and will most deffinately purchase from them agiain.BUY IT!!!BUY IT NOW!!!Rhydian
