September 25, 200421 yr I get a run-time error when i use the configuration manager.Anyone had this problem? If so how to fix please.Thanks,Edhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92219.jpg
September 25, 200421 yr This airplane reminds me of my Chevy truck... LIKE A ROCK!It is so nice to fly! Everything about the thing is nice... FD, 2D panel, the VC refresh rates are very smooth for me and the gauges are sharp (I chose high res in Config Manager), exterior and interior modeling, easy on the framerates... just a treat to fly the 172R.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92220.jpgGreg
September 25, 200421 yr ZaneI bought a small share in a group owned Mooney M20J 1987 vintage and she is a real flier indicating 150 kts low level. As I am now flying A Citation Bravo Commercially as well as the Seneca fives it is a pleasure to have some single use just for fun.I am afraid one of the share holders stuffed the prop while trying to land in a short grass field alongside a french chateau.I believe he got into the dreaded float and pushed the nose over to force a landing :-(Waiting on a new prop and shockload.Anything over 65 max 70 kts over the hedge and you will float forever in ground effectPeter
September 25, 200421 yr I have to agree with the raves-this plane looks, smells, and handles like a c172. The stability feels exactly right, which is something very often not modelled. The panel is accurate in every respect. Took it out for a spin-literally-very nice! What a valuable training tool-I wish something like this had been available when I was a student pilot 16 years ago!I am very happy with this release as I am doing my cfi training now-what a great tool for practice whether you are a student pilot of cfi! Thanks to flight one for the usual great quality and value!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
September 25, 200421 yr After 10 minutes in this thing I belive IMO this is the best cessna ever made for FS. Panel-VC are super sharp and it's a dream to fly. In fact this VC is so good there is really no need for the 2D panel! Wonderful job guys. For those who have not bought it don't wait trust me..Best Wishes,
Randy J. September 25, 200421 yr Hey Ed, see you have Call Of Duty there ;-). Have you had the chance to try out the Star Wars Battlefront yet? Incredible game if you are into that type of stuff. A lot like Battlefield 1942 in movement but graphic wise much better imo.Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/Animation1.gifCaution! September 25, 200421 yr Haven't bought it yet, because I'm a bit confused after reading a report in a German forum. A user reports the plane needs a lot of back pressure during takeoff with trim in takeoff setting (what the real McCoy of course doesn't). Also he reports if he puts the throttle forward the plane doesn't put the nose up, but just accelerates and stays level. And he found the trim sensitivity being much too high. He confirmed the RealAir Cessna behaves correctly in this regard. But here I read only reports about great flight dynamics. Can anyone clear up the confusion for me ?Michael
September 25, 200421 yr I haven't seen this. Probably control adjustments. I am using chpro and pedals.Much of the flight model on any fs aircraft is in the "controls" which obviously vary from make and model. I find often I have to change sensitivities from plane to plane to get the right feel.Anyway-takeoff felt right to me-and I added power while trimmed for level flight at altitude and got a climb that also seemed about right.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
September 25, 200421 yr One thing I wouldn't want to be in life is a flight dynamics creator for MSFS. The real problem stems from all the different controllers available, and the fact that most are rather cheap. One would be hard pressed to find a controller of sufficient quality to truly realize and enjoy the flight dynamics of the new 172R.Greg
September 25, 200421 yr Thanks for the infos. Although I fail to see what the controls shall have to do with it, if the RealAir plane doesn't show the reported behaviour. Really weird.Could someone please perform two tests (kept simple for easy comparison), just to make sure :1. Take out P-factor and torque, leave general realism slider at full. Trim to takeoff setting, max. allowable fuel, Payload Pilot and copilot, no baggage. Now throttle full forward and don't touch the stick/yoke. The Flight1 C172 lifts off at which speed and to which initial VS ?2. Fly level at a certain altitude (say which you used), well trimmed at a certain speed (e.g. 100kt). Note rpm. Now move throttle full forward for 5-10 seconds, then return to the original setting. Does the plane end up at 100 kt and approx. how long does it take ?Thanks Michael

The Flight1 C172 lifts off at>which speed and to which initial VS ?I hate to say this, but I am beginning to wonder if some folks have ever flown a real airplane. You never just stick the trim on center and leave it alone during a climb and expect it to stay there and fly pretty. Besides, every trim indicator I have ever seen isn't exactly "center" when it is placed on the center trim position. It is a starting point. Wind, temp airspeed, pitch, etc. all factor in and I guarantee you will trim the airplane when transitioning from ground to air.>2.
