I still chuckle at the thought of a dozen of us beer swilling submarine sailors trying to play a round of golf at the navy base. That is what I really like about photo real scenery. April 19, 201313 yr The half-moon shaped area is called The Hill. I lived in the barracks that are to the left of the track and baseball fields, before I was promoted to Staff Sergeant and moved off post that is. My Brigade HQ (4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team) is parallel of my old barracks. What's funny is that over 20k Soldiers work on The Hill alone, yet it's only a tiny portion of the instillation. Good looking scenery. Though it is pretty outdated now. Bryan Ott
April 20, 201313 yr Manifest Destiny since 1853.....Oh the history! HLJAMES Indeed. Riley is my first duty station, and I absolutely hated being here for the first few months. That said, it's certainly grown on me and I actually rather like it. Minus the horrendous humidity in the summer and bitterly cold, snow filled winters. Too bad there are no buildings, I'd love to fly a UH-60 from Marshal Airfield to Custer Hill and all parts in-between. Bryan Ott
