April 16, 201313 yr Looks like their reservation system has crashed. No one can check in, no one can board, all AA jets are being held on the ground as no one has access to the passenger and cargo manifests. https://twitter.com/AmericanAir Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
April 16, 201313 yr United had all sorts of issue after the CO merger integrating systems, wonder if it is related or specific to SABRE Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
April 16, 201313 yr Author No, they thought it was Sabre to begin with but have since had to eat their words and admitted that it is an internal issue they're having with their in house systems... Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
April 16, 201313 yr Thanks Ró Would hate to be the guy who typed that last command into a switch/router or server right before everything came down lol... Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
April 16, 201313 yr Moderator Wow... poor passengers! They can't check in or board the aircraft... will they receive complimentary refreshments and cuisine because of the delay? Looks like the Wi-Fi systems at airports served by AA are going to be VERY busy!

April 17, 201313 yr Famous last words: "- Hey Jake, I ran the script and it is working just fine!" Having worked on numerous automated accounting systems, I had to really laugh at this. True to life.
April 17, 201313 yr I am noticing something. Organizations have CFO Positions. Its usually filled by CPA or otherwise a qualified Finance guy of sort. Many other positions have very qualified people for their positions. Except when it comes to CIOs. Many of the CIOs are not formally trained in IT. I am not saying this is the case here at AMR/AA. Just a general observation. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
April 17, 201313 yr United had all sorts of issue after the CO merger integrating systems, wonder if it is related or specific to SABRE I was actually browsing Continental's website (trying to check prices for a ticket) when they were changing the systems. It was funny because after I filled out all the info for the ticket search, the results showed up in a United page, and for there forth, everything on the page had United on it. I even checked to see if I was on the right website, then I checked that Continental.com indeed redirected to United.com. Ha. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

I even checked to see if I was on the right website, then I checked that Continental.com indeed redirected to United.com. Ha. When did you do your research on the Continental site? Last year, on March 3rd 2012, I was returning from vacation in Honduras on a United flight to Houston, then on to my home in Philadelphia. On that date, United officially changed over their behind the scenes computer systems, like reservations and the public website. I noticed that the two daily United flights to Honduras were delayed, we had to wait an extra half hour just for the incoming flight to arrive. Also, when the ticket agent scanned my boarding pass, she put me in a different seat, right next to the emergency door of the 737-800, even though I carefully selected my desired window seat behind the wing!!! Not until I returned home did I find out that the big Continental to United transition become final, and despite these minor inconveniences, I felt like I was a part of airline history. To be fair, I'm not positive if my experience that day is related to the changeover, but I suspect it might have been related in some way. Well, I did remember using the Continental site to buy the tickets, and when I went to "replicate" my vacation flights in the PMDG NGX and tried to lookup the flight details on Flightaware, I had to use a different flight number from what was printed on my tickets because of this historic event! LOL! A.J. Domingo
