April 21, 201313 yr Hi all, I know that this topic is/ has been discussed here over and over again but i couldn't find them despite doing a search... So I own a Wilco Airbus Evo and have not flied with it since NGX ( before that it was my favourite plane besides PMDG MD-11). Now there is Wilco, Aerosoft's Airbus Xtended and BBS AB Xtreme. I would like your opinions on which of these is right now the best one. And how framerate-hungry are they compared to Wilco's product. Thanks in advance, Petteri EFNU Petteri Pulkkinen EFNU, Finland
April 21, 201313 yr I only have the AXE (and the Wilco vol1 "pre-Evo", but that one has been parked in my hangar for quite a while), so I don't really want to make any comparisons, but there has been a thread about the up- and downsides of both the Aerosoft and BBS A320 family. Here's the link: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/405291-bbs-a320-or-aerosoft-airbus-extended/ Provided that Aerosoft can keep what they promised a few days ago (see here:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/405459-news-on-aerosoft-airbus-extended-axe-the-airbus-projects/), the AXE will be an absolutely great product... Keep in mind that FSLabs (known for their Concorde X) are also working on the A320, and I'm pretty sure this will be the best Airbus for FSX in terms of system depth, and probably also regarding the visual model, though Aerosoft did a fantastic job on theirs. Generally speaking, I'd say it depends on what you want: The AXE simulates only the daily work of a pilot, which means no emergency procedures etc as well as no seperate FO displays. BBS seem to offer a deeper systems simulation, and the FSL one is pretty sure going to have the ultimate system depth for both normal and abnormal procedures. Regards, Flo A little addendum, because I did not even partly answer your original question (so kinldy disregard the above post in case it's only about performance): The Airbus X Extended performs approxiamtely like the default planes on my computer, maybe a few FPS lower. April 23, 201313 yr I bought the AXE and I own the Wilco and while I never disliked the Wilco's (not an Airbus Purist) I am LOVING the AXE. Flies really well and the systems seems spot on (considering I am a Boeing Bomber and not a Airbus purist). Feels really good. I am hoping they continue development into the bigger ones. Jim Atkins
April 23, 201313 yr The AXE wins my vote (although I will probably get the FSLabs one too), From a feature point of view, the AXE is excellent, with RAAS and virtual co-pilot. April 23, 201313 yr get the AXE one, if you like couching pilots, tray tables for virtual crew food ,and the air condition sounds really good. get the BBS one for virtual sunshining orange glareshields get the wilco one for a fancy weather radar and if you like smoking and drinking due to stress caused by CTDS then get the air simmer one. But if you want an airbus which actually models, a normal airbus you knackered because there isnt one.
April 23, 201313 yr Commercial Member From your last two posts it sounds like you have been drinking mate, you haven't just got back from the tram shed 48 Mitcham road have you?.. Rob Prest

Your post made me laugh but sadly it's true, every single Airbus out there at the moment is serious compromised in one way or another. I really hope FS Labs get it right, otherwise I think I give up. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

I really hope FS Labs get it right, otherwise I think I give up. Do you own all of them? No? Ahh.. I see. :( Me too  And, me two !!! Do not fear the turbulence; we are counting on you. We are waiting on the A-330 and A-340. (Forget the A-320..there's already a nice one out there) Take your time guys; but hurry! jeje We are confident that it will be both graphically and systematically awesomerrr :Praying:
April 23, 201313 yr Do you own all of them? No? Ahh.. I see. :( What are you implying? I've received a lot of feedback from owners and tried most out for several flights; a friend across the Humber has the BBS (it was version 0.5 or .55 when I flew it), another friend that I traverse the Pennine hills to see has both the AXE and Wilco, another that holds a frozen ATPL lives just down the road and has the Wilco too, and I was on the Airsimmer Beta team (not the Extended team, proper beta). And the guy that owns the Wilco and AXE has 'flown' full motion Level D A319/A320 simulators, so when he tells me they don't handle correctly, I believe him. I myself am a little rusty on my Airbus theory (despite having a complete FCOM, FCTM and QRH for the A319), but I still know my C* control law from my alpha floor and alpha max, and I know my ADIRU from my ELAC. Not that I need to justify myself to you. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

Hey, you should try the AXE at home; it is uffff- Fantastic ! But any ways...no worries- "Keep clam and Carrrry On"
April 23, 201313 yr I did try the AXE and it didn't take me very long to work out it was pants (or at least, not for me), although the exact reasons why have since faded from my memory. I seem to recall the controls were very sluggish (which is totally unlike the real aircraft). At any rate, as I said, the current crop of FSX Airbuses are all compromised in one aspect or another to the point where I fly other types. Sorry for being a little short tempered, but I just paid my car insurance for the year and that always puts me in a bad mood (robbing barstools)! ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

Sorry for being a little short tempered, but I just paid my car insurance for the year and that always puts me in a bad mood (robbing barstools)! Hey no worries. But it's a good thing you have your car insurance paid up for the whole year; at least that should give you some peace-of-mind. But, I also understand your frustration with insurance companies...I have had some not-so-nice experience with them. If you have an accident they will try very, very hard to pay the very least and not tell you about all of your benefits, until you contact an attorney. Any way, Happy Flying! By the way, are you a real Airbus Pilot ?
April 23, 201313 yr Not personally, but two of my friends hold current A320 type ratings and another has 'flown' a CAE full motion A320 simulator. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
