April 25, 201313 yr @@neumanix, i did that test, no problems at all. Here is at EFKK: http://imageshack.us/a/img545/1355/efkk.png And Here at Aerosoft LFPG: http://imageshack.us/a/img163/8117/lfpg.png The only difference is that i use MyTraffic 2006, not WOAI. And i don't know if you use REX like me. Even at Aerosoft LFPG i have stable 30fps(locked), smooth sim, no stutters and no shimering. @@Groovin_DC-10, you can get very nice graphics with this settings and no shimering at all. I have FS9 set like here: http://forums.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb25/YaBB.pl?num=1211055375/0#7 with two exceptions: - FPS locked at 30 with fs9 internal limiter and vsync to 1/2 in NVIDIA inspector - TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT i have set to 60(default) - i always live this on default settings, in FSX and FS9, any change brings me noting but trouble Zeljko Budovic
April 25, 201313 yr Nice! I rest my case and looking forward to upgrading from my GTX285 soon. And yes, the 1/2 refresh rate trick is probably the most important thing for a smooth experience.
April 27, 201313 yr IN FS9 I use the Same Nvidia inspector settings as for FSX and have no Probs and runns better  Jason Richards
April 27, 201313 yr My fs9 Nvidia Inspector settings are actually the same like in fsx, with 2 exceptions: 1. in fsx i have anisotropic filtering to application controled(this is not posible in fs9 becouse fs9 don't have anisotropic filtering) 2, 4xSGSS in fs9 vs 2xSGSS in FSX. 4xSGSS is too much in fsx, and it has impact on performance. In fs9 it's a different story - i use it without problems. 4xSGSS will eliminate shimmering Zeljko Budovic
May 1, 201313 yr Thanks Zeljko. The only things I've changed in my FS9 cfg file since I got it last year is the pan rate to 999 and the following which was mentioned on the link you provided: TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.5 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.0 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 I may try the others listed on the link as well. I still haven't tried the 1/2 refresh rate because for some reason my FS9 runs a lot smoother when locked @ 60fps. Since I don't have any image tear, I figure activating 1/2 refresh rate will only add unnecessary processing on the GPU. I will still keep this in mind next time I want to fiddle with FS9 settings. However, I recently spent some time doing this very tweak in FSX, but 1/2 refresh doesn't work as well as "Force On" in FSX for me. Thanks again Nature Boy

Thanks again You're welcome ) I just want to add - 1/2 refresh rate should not add any processing on GPU, maybe to remove some processing. It works well for me in both sims, FSX and FS9. Did you check monitor refresh rate? From what i know so far, this tweak will fail for sure if you don't have monitor refresh rate of 60Hz Anyway, maybe you don't need this if everything works well for you ) Cheers Zeljko Budovic
May 2, 201313 yr Did you check monitor refresh rate? From what i know so far, this tweak will fail for sure if you don't have monitor refresh rate of 60Hz Interesting. I do have monitor refresh rate set to 60 on Nvidia control panel, but I'm running on a plasma which is rated at 500Hz. I think that's why. Nature Boy
