Flying on a rail

Featured Replies

Good morning, Gents......the Ol' Blackbird here just for a sec......

Dave - your words..... "Turbulence effects the aircraft itself. It effects things like speed, flight path, etc....."

I totally agree.  I'm not sure if the DHM effect "realizes" all that - yet.  I think that Stephen is working on that - 'cause other folks have mentioned the same thing as you.

I will tell you this - when the air is calm - and if I'm in Cruise.....many times the DHM effect is very minimal - sometimes even non-existent.  I have not really watched the gauges enough to tell you if the "turbulence" (when it's occurring) is affecting things like speed, climbing ability, etc..  I'm far from an expert, and very much a "casual" pilot.

As always, stimulating conversation, guys.

Thanks!!!

All best,

Ray L (Blackbird)

There appears to be an issue with turbulence effects on the aircraft.  we are looking into this as well.  Hopefully we can have it addressed in an upcoming patch.

P.S. - You might also want to check out this program - I use it all the time - for control processes with the CPU (Affinity Mask, I/O Priority, and much more: it's called ProLASSO.  Very powerful tool.

Is there a patch for the turbulence. Still on the fence, want to buy the q400.

Still on the fence, want to buy the q400.

This is going to sound incredibly biased coming from me, given my position as a tester, but I gain nothing from highly recommending this product (in fact, I wouldn't be testing it if I didn't support it as strongly as I do).

In the scheme of things, the turbulence effect is minor compared to the rest of the aircraft. By delaying getting the Q400, you're missing out. Note also that depending on where you go to purchase it, you may be eligible for upgrade rights, meaning that when PRO is released, you only pay the difference.

I would love to say much more, but I'm bound by NDA.

Best regards,

Robin.

I have no affiliation with Majestic, so lets just get that out of the way.

Now I need to agree with Robin. This aircraft is amazing. You are missing out.

The feel of flying this aircraft is different to any other model out there. In fact I ride on Q400's quite often and I get the same feel when being on board within the simulator.

Do yourself a favour and grab it. You are indeed missing out.

EZDOK gives you a certain amount of 'shaking about' in this aircraft, although not to the level of the proper turbulence you get in say the NGX.
