Cant see wing and prop from the cockpit

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a problem with seeing the wings and props from the VC. Maybe its a EZdok config issue, can i have used a wrong view to generate my ezdok positions from?

No, that's just how it is, you can't see them from the traditional VC view. Cycle the view using "A" and "Shift+A" to switch to the VC wing views. There are two pre-made views, one for each wing.

Kyle

Wing views are planned for the next service pack. We didn't realize that track-ir users would need them so much, now we will include them.

Great news as looking back as seeing nothing is.......disappointing.

Hope with the option to disable them ;-)

Awesome! Wing view from vc completes the whole experience. Looking back at the wing of an Island Air livery would be even better. Where is the love for HI interisland routes?

Watch Dash 8 pilots. You gotta check to see all is clear at the props when starting and before taxi for the wing. They dont just take ground crew at their word. I worked on the ramp and noticed this.

We never take ground crews word when taxiing out from a parked position or manuvring in tight spaces.  It is always good having an extra set of eyes, but the final responsibility rests on the pilot, as the CA and or FO (depending on the situation) is the one that gets drug tested when you start bending metal.

Never a good day in the office when this happens.

Sounds good, i would guess that pilots also would visually check for icing or other wing/engine related abnormality.

Well, the Q400 is a pretty long plane. You will be able to see just a part of the prop and the wing tips, don't expect you can deeply analyse the wings.

As for icing inspection, yes you can, but there are two ice accretion probes on the wipers and you can see the ice accumulating there (this is modeled)
