  1. It is not only a Q400 problem. I have the same thing with the default Maule, default location I've been told by Oleksiy (Boss), he is actually working directly with P3D team to resolve this issue, as it seems that the Dash is not the only guilty one here.
  2. Q400 PRO and Training is the priority. It doesn't mean we are not working on a new Q300. Visuals are in construction actually.
  3. have you installed the Q400 as "administrator" in Windows ? If not, you have to. another guess: can it be your view point has been moved inside the headrest ? Try moving around the cockpit and check if you still have no focus on switches
  4. "The Weather Radar can work with both the FSX Real Weather, and the Weather Environment addons capable of setting the per-station weather." (Q400 product description) you have to make sure that the ASN sets real weather per station and not globally.
  5. they are all on the official support forum
  6. it was discussed a lot of times: uncheck "mipmap vc panels" checkbox in display options, and you'll get the screens right.
  7. Nobody's waiting for the Q400 PRO ? And maybe even Training this year (likely but no promise)
  8. Bryan, please contact us at support(a)majesticsoftware.com, we will quickly find you a real pilot. Dimitri
  9. well, not all the PRO features leaked into Pilot In Pro they can indeed explode because of a hard landing (with a certain probability). Or burn out because of hard braking associated with oil leak from the engine...
  10. Enjoy PRO features in PILOT version for free ! This comes from a FSX bug of not initializing all the variables correctly. We found a workaround for that and it will be included in a future patch. For now just reload the plane and if it doesn't help, try to load a default cessna first then load the dash.
  11. I suppose you can now map any key to altitude reset (or other action), because with the new version there is a possibility to link keyboard and joystick buttons with MJC variables.
  12. Please check the product description on the official site. Shared cockpit is a feature of PRO and TRAINING editions. No one of them has been released today.
  13. you've certainly got the engine intakes stucked by the snow. Be sure to open ENG BYPASS DOORS (overhead) in snowy conditions, or the engines risk to flame out.
  14. Now go download the 1.008
  15. Take off, switch the AP on, it will go into HDG HOLD / WING LVL mode. Choose IAS mode and set the IAS with the wheel (usually 180kts for climb). Then you can select the heading and choose HDG mode, the AP will go into HDG SEL lateral mode. If you select an altitude, the AP will go into ALT* and then into ALT mode and level on the selected altitude (watch your speed then). The Q400 has no autothrottle, so manage your speed with power levers. Use the HDG knob to turn. For descent, select the target altitude then get again in IAS mode or choose VSPEED (V/S?) mode and select the vertical speed with the wheel. When approaching the glideslope, hit APPR button. It will bring LOC and GS modes to standby and they will activate when close to the glideslope. Then everything is automatic, except power management. I find the AP quite straightforward. It's not as advanced as in some larger airliners, but it's sufficient for correct flying and - of course - it is exactly the same way in real world.
  16. Please check with the distributor if they have a new version for you. The latest update 1.007 was issued in julliet, so you can't have bought it in April. Until the 1.007 there was no possibility to check the version on the ISI.
  17. Uncheck "Mipmaps VC panels" in "view and panel settings" and the Q400 will work in P3D. This is a temporal workaround, waiting for the officially supported P3D version.
  18. the fix was about black displays in VC. Other issues may appear, we don't cancel our intentions to make a fully compatible version and/or a special P3D installer.
  19. Gentlement, I have been told (by alexnadein from avsim.su) that the Majestic Q400 is fully compatible with Prepar3D v2. You just need to uncheck "Mipmap VC panels" in "view and panel settings" Folks here tried this and it works. Thanks !
  20. apart from the digital clock ("...that nobody uses...") what other upgrades can you see in FSX ?
  21. Sorry, I'm not a real world Q400 pilot, but I think that since the engines rpm is constant during the taxi (660 rpm), the only way to vary engine thrust is varying blade pitch, so you get an impression that throttle levers are directly linked to props beta angle.
  22. Thank you for this nice compliment
  23. I can add that gear pins will be functional in PRO (for now they are only statically present in the VC). Checking them is a part of a normal checklist. If you forget to check they are in the rear bag - well, your landing gear won't go up.
  24. High performance of the Q400 package proves that the visual model is very little responsible for framerate drop - unless it's unneedingly huge in poly count and texture lists
  25. In FSX, the VC and the exterior are separate models. If the exterior is not depicted - which is the case when you are in the cockpit - it cannot affect the framerate. Although some things make the exterior not entirely independent : - textures shared between the VC and the exterior - they are not discharged from memory, occupying more space in it. The best technique is not sharing textures between the VC and the exterior, although it can lead to a slower texture load on view switching. - aircraft's shade on the ground - calculated from the external model. If the exterior is too complex - too many polygons, skinned animations - then even calculating the shade can affect your precious fps. so you are right - by eliminating the exterior model you can gain some memory and some few fps. @Pe11e : I wonder how many fps you will gain in the Q400 ?
