Regarding the payware producers: At this moment there are alternatives to FSUIPC use. If the producer wishes to use FSUIPC it's their choice. Same thing happens if they choose to use VS and pay a lot of money for the license or use GCC, maybe they will take longer to produce the software with GCC but they can. Never saw anyone asking the producers about that.Jos

Let me just add this:1- Anyone can go out and purchase FS9, and run it out of the box as is, as long as their equipment meets the basic minimum.2- They can. likewise, download the FS9.1 Patch to patch the above program with no no additional expense and continue running it.Pete Dawson is in a group of dedicated individuals who have made Flight Simulator more enjoyable, for some, by unlocking and adding functionalities that MS would not offer without charging us for the development time and manpower. For Pete, or any other developer, to eventually try and recoup the "costs" of development is not only their right, but should be supported by every FS user who benefits from these addons. There is absolutely nothing that forces user to either upgrade or go beyond the basic FS program, and for those who want to there are plenty of addons. Please remember one thing: THERE IS NO "FREE" LUNCH! Someone, somewhere has to provide the energy, time or money to make it. So if you want to partake in someones generosity, than at least recognise them for it, and if you want a fine wine with your free lunch be prepared to pay for it.Thank you Pete for all you have done, I was proud to be able to repay you with my registration of FSUIPC!

Again, I remind you that FSUIPC was free for years and he only started charging for it because of changed personal circumstances.<>Because I know him and you don't!! Reading through the docs for the patch it's nice to see that Microsoft have recognised the huge contribution made to FS by Pete Dowson and advised you need a specific version of FSUIPC for the patch to work correctly.Is this the first time Goliath has depended on David? I mean no disrespect to the FS team at Microsoft - I'm really pleased they have provided a patch and at the same time recognised what Pete has contributed to the FS community.Long live the little guy! :-beerchugCheers,
