Curses to you HGTV!

Featured Replies

I was watching HGTV with my wife (the show with the two brothers who renovate a home).   Really I was mostly on my laptop checking out the aviation websites, but periodically would look up to the tube.  So a commercial comes on and I decided to plant the "seed" about the Jetmax cockpit-- and how great it would be.  I was getting that kind of glazed look I get when I tell her about new flightsim "stuffs".  The Jetmax is around $7000.00 roughly, and extra "seeds" needed to be planted.  We live in a golf community, but I don't play-- however I know how much membership to the club is, as well as the equipment and fees.  So I use that angle-- the "all-in-all" I am a pretty inexpensive husband to keep happy!  I wasn't getting shut down but just when I thought the light bulb was going to go "on" in her head that it was something I could consider, the show came back from commercial break, at which point I lost her attention which went back to the tv.  Then I got the "we need to update the shower tile, guest bathroom counter, do something with the patio..blah blah blah.   Sometimes I feel like the villain in Scooby Doo who says after getting caught "If it weren't for you pesky kids I would have gotten away with it..."!   Thanks HGTV.

Find a compromise.....She can renovate the house as long as she just leaves one room as a flight sim room just for you. And the rule is she is not allowed to enter your flight sim room unless she is wearing a vintage Stewerdess outfit, calls you Captain, and serves you coffee :LMAO:

I really do think a home renovation is the answer.  She can let her inner HGTV designer's challenge run wild.  Meanwhile your 7k Jet max is lost in the noise.  Just tell her when they want to do a "what's your home worth" that a house with a cockpit room is a big plus.  (Forget the pro stove -- who needs it?).

LOL!  If I asked her to wear a stewardess outfit It would end up lodged somewhere on my body :)   I know $7000 is a lot for a flight sim "device", but after pricing out the cost for bathroom remodeling-- it doesn't seem as bad.    Oh well, time will tell!!

I can tell who isn't married. You just don't get it. Compromise? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same would happen to me too....LOL

I used to have a mancave that was my flight sim room but she has now moved her computer in there too. So no more man cave for me.

What a coincidence, I was bored flipping through channels, and discovered HGTV for the first time.  Saw a show about a lady who is renovating old homes and flipping them (I figure all the home shows have that same concept), and actually found it interesting.   My brother in law just moved into a new home, but had a real fixxer upper before, so it's neat to see the folks who enjoy that kind of thing, plus make money off it.   Now if only I could use my vast knowledge of flight simming to make money....
