June 20, 201312 yr I never knew what all the fuss was about with this AEX until I watched this excellent 'walk through'. Lots of features I've never seen in a plane before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=fvwp&v=0QNHGB-4vwc Very nice.... Where do the touch-down lights on the take-off runway come from? Very nice... Thanks for sharing this, a very well done and impartial review. Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
June 20, 201312 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the tip! This has indeed hugely increased performance. I had no idea. Seems crazy that Aerosoft wouldn't have made it clearer that this was an option. James We initially didn't have a Configurator till V1.04~. Thats why the manuals have omitted about the configurator, I will request for the manuals to be updated. Logging is enabled by default as we knew things were going to be initially buggy, and the logging have proven useful so far to solve issues. However, in v1.11, it will be disabled by default as the need for it as debugging tool decreases rapidly. Joshua C. WSSS
June 20, 201312 yr Imagine a pmdg quality VC wow that would be awesome. What do you find wrong with the vc, I thinks it's beautiful.. Note: not starting something just want to hear your views
June 20, 201312 yr Imagine a pmdg quality VC wow that would be awesome. I don't think that this VC is of lower quality than PMDG VCs - people think that the Airbus VC lacks details, but this is only because the real one does, too. Just take a look at pictures over at airliners.net. Florian

Thanks for all your hard work - and your constant input to these & the AXE forums. I also envy your patience.... :clapping: Regards Bill i7-3770K 4.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 970 4GB, Win 7 64bit, LG 38GL950G, CH Yoke/Pedals, T.16000M, GenX UK, UK2000 EGGP & EGCC, AeroSoft Gibraltar, FSC 9.5, FSL A320X, 737NGX A318/A319/A320/A321, A2A Cherokee/JF Hawk T1/Dino's EF2000, Iris Grob Tutor
June 20, 201312 yr Author I have found an application which converts FSCommander flight plans to AXE format so I will give it a try. You can get it from http://www.sahince.com/downloads/viewdownload/8-tools/12-convaxe-v12.html Büke Yolaçan

June 20, 201312 yr It's my favourite airliner ever released for any version of FS. For me Frame Rates are marginally better than in the NGX. If I had 26 in the NGX, I'd have 28-29 in the Airbus X Extended. As well as being a brilliantly modelled aircraft, it offers so much more; Virtual F/O, audio checklist system, views system, ATC sounds and other immersion factors. It's just the best. Right on the money, it's my "most" flown aircraft at the moment. And don't forget Q400_Flyer has re-done the voice of the pilot, so he is in English as he has for the GSX pushback voice. Sorry Dave it had to be said :wink2: Link for voice pack: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/files/file/2118-british-english-captain-voice-pack-airbus-x-extended-a320a321/ Thanks again Dave. June 20, 201312 yr - Dave's default ground crew voices replacement pack has been finished, too. - Plus, he's currently working on a British (male) F/O voice replacement pack ... What happened to AVSIM
June 20, 201312 yr Author I installed it today and tried doing a flight but I couldn't find how to set the speed manually. I turn the speed knob and set it but the autopilot still goes with the MCDU plan and it doesn't change. Am I doing something wrong? Büke Yolaçan
June 20, 201312 yr You have to change to selected speed first (right mouse click onto the SPD knob). After the right click, dial in the speed you want to fly at. What happened to AVSIM

June 20, 201312 yr Author You have to change to selected speed first (right mouse click onto the SPD knob). After the right click, dial in the speed you want to fly at. I have now other problems. It always says to me a message like "turn on the automatic rudder control" and while I am climbing, the plane doesn't follow the altitude and keeps climbing up and down to high altitudes. This doesn't happen when I load the taxi state and take off. Also when I land to the runway, the plane doesn't turn until i press the commands about rudder control which is ctrl + shift + u. I compared it with PMDG but it gave me lower FPS though I closed all logging. Büke Yolaçan

I'm sorry to see Mathijs has closed your topic so quickly on the official Aerosoft AAX forum ... rudder control: looks to me as if your FSX autocoordination (ailerons/rudder) is turned on. If you use a hardware rudder (pedals or joystick with 'twist') you should have it turned off in both FSX and in the AAX options (right MCDU). altitudes: you'll need to watch your thrust mode - from 1.500 ft AGL upwards you should be in mode 'CLB' - be careful not to stay in TOGA. If it reads 'TOGA LK' some speed/stall protection automatically has been activated and you'll have to switch A/THR off and back on again to get rid of the 'L(OC)K'. fps: additionally you can turn off the web browser MCDU and lower the number of items on the ND (use the AAX Configurator as you did to disable the logging).
