September 29, 201312 yr I don't see the turbine as a huge upgrade over the piston, there is still plenty space to bring it up to Lancair standards although in saying that I fly the pre patch as I don't like one of post patch features. If they move on to their next project, the 172 I would be happy too! It sounds like it's quite far in the distance though but no worries, the piston will keep me occupied for a LONG time! -Iain Watson-
September 29, 201312 yr Are you still looking at a end of September release guys? With only a couple of days left, I would be well chuffed to get my hands on the piston v2. Cost is not an issue (within degree) when you are purchasing a quality build like your Legacy product, well worth an upgrade cost for keeping this wonderful twin current and up in the clouds... Heads up on release would be appreciated, if at all possible chaps... Rgds, Shaun
September 29, 201312 yr Cost is now an issue for me. With 50 bucks down the drain on the A2A C172, I hope this isn't too much! End September is near, they usually are accurate and only release this info when it's really is ready so I expect it will be here tomorrow latest! -Iain Watson-

Agree about the 172, Gotta say that I would have spent my $50 on a fresh Duke rather than the 172 which hasn't really met my level of expectation so far! Unlike the Piston Duke which I am still flying even in version one guise...so v2 Duke will be a winner for sure Rgds, Shaun
September 29, 201312 yr RealAir are just one of the 4 or 5 developers that, from my 15 years in this hobby, I would decisively buy anything from, without reading a single review or early adopter feedback. As well as the products really appealling to me, my type of simming, and the priorities I like within an aircraft product, I also just want to support them in a business sense - they do business, provide support, and communicate in a way that I really value and like. There's none of the arrogance, inflated ego, or wild west "we're all MEN, let's be brash and blunt......anything else is girly!" approach of some others; as I've said before, Rob and Sean are role models in the FS developer statosphere! I too have concluded that the A2A C172 just isn't for me. But now that most of the bugs are resolved that's just more about personal choice, than there being anything particularly wrong with it. I certainly wouldn't criticize A2A or the 172; they are a great professional team too, and the 172 has many, many fans who are loving what it offers. But back to this Piston Duke 2.0 - I aim to purchase within an hour of release! ...... I spend my FS time in a cycle where I'm into all things GA for about 3 months, then I get back into Airliner stuff for 3 months again.... it's always been like that! ...... This Duke 2.0 will drag me away from the T7 and QW Avro, back to some good honest GA flying!

The Piston duke is at the front of my very full virtual hanger, and the Duke still sits well alongside my Q400, QW Avro, NGX and Legacy as my "cream of the crop" flyers Rgds, Shaun
September 29, 201312 yr You have good tastes Shaun... ... the fleet you mentioned there reflects my current faves too (plus the 777!)
September 29, 201312 yr As far as I know, a small minority of our customers might on their own accord have migrated our aircraft to P3d using tools at their disposal. I don't know enough about P3dv2 to comment. The overwhelming majority of FSX users are happy with this platform and forums similar to this give a sometimes distorted impression of support for other platforms. There are licensing factors too. I think our atittude is that we don't at the moment support P3D migration but also don't claim a right to stop users from doing so at their own risk. That's reasonable. P3D v2 is still a 'we shall see' product. I wonder what the critical mass is to get the majority of folks to jump over. Certainly it will be convincing the great developers to make the move would help them. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. September 30, 201312 yr But the new update is only for Duke, not Turbine version correct? Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
