August 6, 201312 yr We do have some requests for Weather radar, but they are tiny in number compared to requests for even better RXP GNS integration. I think weather might be an option for the future as a retrofit but for now we are sticking to the listed upgrades. You can of course currently install any 3rd party gauge you choose but it will be a 2d pop up without 3d integration unless you have panel edit skills and software. Hi Robert, I assume, this would also regard the integration of fsaspen, which I use too? Best regards Michael
August 6, 201312 yr Whoa, great list and equally great target since the plane obviously is a classic for every FSX user.
August 6, 201312 yr So lets see if this is correct: We install the Version 2 of the panel in this thread to get the Duke Turbine VC panel (with screws added). Then we (gladly) wait and purchase the Piston upgrade which will also include a panel update (with screws) and much more. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
August 6, 201312 yr Ok, Thanks for confirming .. I will go get Version 2 Panel for the Turbine Duke now. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
August 6, 201312 yr Thanks Tom and Stephen for allowing me to list some of the upgrades in the pipeline for the Piston Duke: * Multiplayer flooding eliminated...giving glitch free m/p connection * Textures and panels load much quicker when returning from spot view and optimised for an improved frame rate * Panel and texture improvements plus more livery and panel variations * Custom sound set and animations up to Legacy standards, including: 1. User customisable airframe vibrations 2. Airframe reactions to flight and ground handling 3. Flap vibration and failure when too fast 4. Gear up and down clunks and vibration 5. All switches have sounds * Improved start up and shut down animations on props with sound sync to engine compression * Will now do accurate rate one turn but still with full side slip capability (Note: Response to customer feedback!) * Improved stall, buffet and spin * Click Spot removal option for Track IR users * Improved Engine Sounds * Optional grass suspension or harder tarmac suspension and accompanying sounds * Screws surrounding gauges (!!) * Custom Landing Lights up to Legacy standards * FSX Carb Heat Bug fixed * Turn co-ordinator improved * Gauge needle vibrations when appropriate * Improved exterior glass and reflections * Armrest sounds * Improved exterior shadows * Open Door Wind and Turbine Sounds * Improved Gauges and size adjustment * Dirt and smudges on gauges (optional) * Improved RXP integration (option for 2xGNS530 and 2XGNS 430 simultaneously) * More complex generator load modelling * Improved Landing gear texturing and 3d modelling * Side Slip wind response * Brake Squeeks * User selectable ADF "dip" * Overspeed flutter on ailerons, yoke vibration and airframe stress on overspeed * 3d lights * Yoke moves with trim commands and trim surfaces react to given speed * 3d blurred props (not a flat plain when viewed from the side) * New Spinner models * General flight model refinements There might be more but these are the upgrades I can remember for now. So Sean might chime in with anything I forgot. Best WIshes, Rob - RealAir Simulations I didn't realise the Realair B60 was such a pile of ....! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
August 6, 201312 yr The texture installation instructions for version 2 says:1. Backing up the original textures.2. copy the VC textures in the supplied "Texture" folder to:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\RealAir Duke Turbine\TextureRASDuke_VC_1.ddsRASDuke_VC_1_L.ddsRASDuke_VC_8.ddsRASDuke_VC_8_L.ddsthis is the default tan colored panel.3. For other panel colors, copy the two texture files to their respective folders:Texture.Panel_BlackTexture.Panel_BlueTexture.Panel_WhiteRASDuke_VC_1.ddsRASDuke_VC_1_L.dds****Before I make a mess of this:Are we supposed to just do step 2 for "TAN" color with no need to do step 3?Or if we want TAN plus "other colors" do we do step 2 and 3?Step 3 only mentions 2 textures already mentioned in step 2. Basically I need to know. To install version 2. Take "this" file and put it here. Next, Take "this" file and put it here. And so on. Edit: I see Folders in the download. Are the complete "contents" of each of these folders (screenshot) to be copied to the original realAir Turbine filders for a full update? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
August 6, 201312 yr this is great news Bob. Hopefully their will be a discount for early buyers. You guys make wonderful products. Looking forward to the update.
August 7, 201312 yr I didn't realise the Realair B60 was such a pile of ....! Them's fightin words! :aggressive:
August 7, 201312 yr The additional Reality XP options are intriguing. What do you do with 2xGNS430 and 2xGNS530 at once? I think I've probably seen a picture of such a cockpit, and I guess the Reality XP unlimited/crossfill license allows it, but what are pilots using 4 GPS units for?

I think I've probably seen a picture of such a cockpit, and I guess the Reality XP unlimited/crossfill license allows it, but what are pilots using 4 GPS units for? I could be wrong but I guess the description reads a bit misleading. What I think it describes is the arrangement to be like on the Duke Turbine. So you can have two 530 or two 430. So we will never exceed the amount of two GPS'.
August 7, 201312 yr I've been excited about the B60 upgrade since Rob first mentioned it a few weeks ago. Even more excited now that I see the enhancement list. Been flying the heck out of the B60 of late, so this comes at a great time for me. Scott
August 7, 201312 yr " Custom Landing Lights up to Legacy standards" Will the lighting be the new style that actually lights up the runway and objects?
August 7, 201312 yr " Custom Landing Lights up to Legacy standards" Will the lighting be the new style that actually lights up the runway and objects? Landing lights light up the immediate space where the beam falls. If you have a runway which is light in texture, the beam is less strong. Darker runways are best because they provide better contrast between the beam and the runway surface. Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
