August 5, 201312 yr I was going through my planes today, and I thought... "how come there are no -ER models?" I'll give a couple examples of aircraft that are missing -ER models. 1. PMDG 747-400 Where is the B747-400ER? 2. PMDG 737-900 How come there is no B737-900ER? 3. CS 767-300 The 767-300ER is a very common model of the 767-300, therefore it should be available to fly. The ERJ-145 by Feelthere has all the models... the ERJ-145, the ERJ-145LR, and the ERJ-145XR. FSX: PMDG 744/MD11/JS41/736/737/738/739, CS752/753/763/C130, SimCheck A300, Leonardo MD82, MJC DH8D, Aerosoft CRJ7/CRJ9/A318/A319/A320/A321, RAZBAM Metroliner, ORBX Global, FlyTampa KBUF/OMDB/TNCM/VHHX, ActiveSky Next DCS: A-10C II/F-16C/AH-64D/F-15E/KA-50 III/Mi-24/Persian Gulf/Syria/F-15C XP11: FF 752/753, iniBuilds A306, HotStart TBM900 MSFS: Fenix A320, FS2Crew Fenix A320, FS2Crew Pushback Express, PMDG B77W, ActiveSky FS, Drzewiecki Design UUEE
August 5, 201312 yr My guess is that since they aren't as popular IRL, most developers want to make planes which are popular and don't think the time needed to program the differences is worth it. How many 744ER's were delivered? Not too many (Qantas is the only airline off the top of my head). The MD-11 has an ER version which also didn't sell my planes. While the 739 is only built in the ER variant nowadays, this maybe wasn't so while PMDG were developing it. (I think ifly has the 739ER) EDIT: After a quick check, it looks like the last -900 was delivered in 2005 so Im not sure why PMDG chose the regular variant instead of the ER. Perhaps the -900 was easier to model then the -900ER because of less differneces to the -800 model. Just my $0.02 I dont own it but I thought Captain Sim modeled the 763ER, maybe I was wrong? LevelD have modeled the 763ER and I belive it to be superior to the CS version (in FD and systems modeling, but not in visual quality) Ivo Dimitrov

August 5, 201312 yr Author Because -ER, -XR, -LR and -X is just a friggin' .cfg edit away. That's why. Cool! So can you explain to me how to add an extra fuel tank, change the FMC numbers, and edit the EICAS displays to show and display the extra fuel tank, all in a convienent matter though the .cfg? LevelD have modeled the 763ER and I belive it to be superior to the CS version (in FD and systems modeling, but not in visual quality) That makes sense. I can see why the devs. wouldn't make ER models of the same model (eg. 747-400) because it would probably take awhile to program it, and I doubt it would really make them much more sales. Also, no... CS did not model the 763ER. August 7, 201312 yr Lol. Old school can be fun too. I enjoy both the Simcheck A300 and the Coolsky DC-9. If the FMC and EICAS programmers went the sensible route, they'd read tank and weight info from the aircraft.cfg, so you might just be successful with the mere cfg edits I suggested. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
