August 5, 201312 yr Like many I use both AEX for jetways and GSX for services pushback and baggage etc. I'm at a bit of a loose end as to how set the config and what order/ when do I ask GSX to commence push and so forth I did my first flight and was getting a bit confused with the push back sequence
August 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Hi, Just select AES to 'YES' on the FS2Crew Config Panel. If you want to use a 3rd party pushback program, there's no problem. Just use it normally after you completed the 'Before Start Checklist below the line.' But note that the mode will note auto switch to "After Start"... you'll need to do that manually if you use a 3rd party pushback utility. Cheers, B. August 5, 201312 yr Author ok thanks but what do I select for start crew PB req? i gather it would be no?
August 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member It would make no difference what you select. PB Required No would be used if pushback is not required but you still want to talk to the FS2Crew Start Crew. But, again, that setting would not apply to you. Just pretend the FS2Crew start crew is not there. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 5, 201312 yr Author Yep all worked well BA 701 just landed at EGLL! This is also a lot easier to use on vatsim than I thought.
August 5, 201312 yr This is also a lot easier to use on vatsim than I thought. Thanks for your feedback. It was one of the things I was going to ask next. Could you just tell me how you separated sending vioice to FS2Crew and to ATC? Getting FS2C, GSX and Vatsim to work together seems one heck of a task to me. But once it's done, what more can I expect from home simulation's realism?* * OK, a full blown A320 home cockpit.

Simply assign the same key for (VATSIM) push-to-talk and for Soft Mute (FS2Crew). That's how I do it on IVAO. Whenever you hold the PTT key to talk to ATC, FS2Crew doesn't "listen" then. BTW, I'm using AES/GSX as well and I don't need to manually advance FS2Crew to the next mode. - I select "prepare for departure" in AES - wait for the AES crew to tell me to release the brakes - Call the FS2Crew crew "We're ready for pushback" - release the brake, say "Brake released" - wait till the pushback is complete - set brakes, say "Brake set" - say "You are cleared to disconnect and go to hand signals" So you can use AES for pushback without any need of clicking buttons. Works like a charm. Hope this helps, Stefan Stefan Keller
August 5, 201312 yr And btw, in the FS2C Config panel, I set AES to OFF and "PB required" to NO. Stefan Keller

August 6, 201312 yr I use this method because it gives you the best of both worlds :-) AES/GSX does perfect pushbacks without the hassle of entering distances and angles, and on the other hand it's SO MUCH FUN talking to the ground crew of your wonderful FS2Crew. Stefan Keller
August 6, 201312 yr So if you have FS2Crew PMDG 737 Voice edition and GSX installed. Can you use the voice features of FS2Crew to initiate GSX to start a pushback? I don't want to use the pushback feature of FS2Crew, but GSX instead. In my FS2Crew CFG i Have AES set to ON like it states in the manual whether you're using AES/GSX. August 6, 201312 yr No, I don't think so. You need to use the keys to control the GSX push. I don't actually "control" the pushback crew via voice, I just talk to the FS2Crew ground crew for the fun of it (and for the Airbus with the added benefit that I don't need to click with the mouse in order to advance FS2Crew to the next phase because I speak the trigger phrase). August 6, 201312 yr GSX push doesn't use any key controls, or at least I've never had to use keys. You just specify direction which to push and it will do it, ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
August 6, 201312 yr Yup, but to initiate the push, you need to press a key. That's what I meant ;-) Stefan Keller
