October 31, 200421 yr It's in line next, Staffan. Waiting in the hangar as we speak. We're just taking some "breathing" time after the ATR release to release it.It also got an exciting new feature added to it while we waited.;-)Regards,http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...R_FORUM_LOU.jpg

October 31, 200421 yr Does the ATR give better STOL performance than the Fokker 50 & Dash 8?I ask because I like flying these propjets into dodgy airfields with runways jutting into the sea, up against mountains etc.U get the picture :)
October 31, 200421 yr >Does the ATR give better STOL performance than the Fokker 50>& Dash 8?Not sure if better but if you don't carry too much weight certainly it does not need much runway. But this is not a plane for "bush" flying into grass fields, but a good paved runway of 3000 ft should be enough.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.

October 31, 200421 yr Staffan,Well, that could be . . . . but don't ever hold your breath LOLClaywww.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.html|http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/Forum_Banners/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
October 31, 200421 yr Hello All, I have a question for all you ATR lovers out there, I think that I'm right, but then again, with old age and all LOL..I could be mistaken. Was it about 10 years ago that the ATR was given an mandate by the FAA that it had to increase it's lift ability and wing size in order to be sold or flown in the US as an commericial aircraft? If memory serves me correctly it was due to a few crashes where icing was involved? Not to slam the 'real' aircraft, I just happened to think about that when I saw this post and was wondering if I was correct.Claywww.dreamfleet2000.com/Previews/727/preview_home.html|http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/Forum_Banners/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. October 31, 200421 yr The problem with icing was that ice was collecting behind the de-icing boots. It has been solved but I very much doubt the solution had anything to do with modifying wing size.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
