November 1, 200421 yr Hi,From what I remember, 1 ATR crashed in Wyoming due to icing, then the FAA asked ATR to demonsrate that the ATR can fly with icing conditions and ATR had to rework the anti-icing system. In the meantime all ATR were banned from flying in conditions that could lead to ice formation on the wings.Francois
November 1, 200421 yr >I've got the Eurowings ATR. Is it worth buying this ATR>too?>>Kev>>The 2 products cannot be compared since the new ATR isfar superior and professionally put together. I would saythat it's the equivalent of comparing goldplated to real gold!Mr Hartmann and colleagues deserve to be congratulated for an excellent product.Joaquin
November 1, 200421 yr This is a very good plane but the sound as they used default sound engine that is not realistic at all. Still Dash 8 by Frolov remains the champion in turboprop sounds.Obviously they deleted the thread about this from their forum.
November 1, 200421 yr >Will it be available as a CD ROM with printed manual as well?>To me it Michael J.
November 1, 200421 yr Shockingwaveproductions do ;) 153 pages or something like that. Some sell it because it increases the value of a product. And in this case I would rather pay 20$ extra for a printed manual since Ink will cost that much. Reading it on monitor is just not an option unless you have several.
November 1, 200421 yr Commercial Member Danny, as stated, if you deal with us respectfully, you are more likely to not have a deleted thread. To clarify your post, we use tons of sounds recorded from the real ATR in Toulouse. We did not create a separate sound "engine" for the engine sounds. So sounds are new, and they are processed using the FS sound engine. Some may not have been aware of the difference when mentioning engine, compared to the actual sounds. November 2, 200421 yr >fly Aerowings PS 1.3 very much. That came with a 350 page>printed manual.;-)But what was the price of the whole product? 8 times higher? This is really fair comparison. *:-*>In any case, it should be a choice for a printed manual. Just>as the Flight1 Meridian titleVery poor example. Meridian's manual is real Piper's manual for this aircraft which can be had for $30. By the way this manual tells you nothing how to operate autopilot, Garmin, radios, etc. or for that matter many other key systems so is next to useless for someone who wants to perform basic piloting tasks on Flight1's Merdian. Instead you need another 300+ pages of stuff which is not available in printed form. I don't know how much ATR would charge for their equivalent manual but I can assure you it would be a lot more expensive than $30.If someone can't afford $10 worth of ink and another $5 of wear-and-tear on his printer I don't understand how he would afford $100 worth of printed ATR docs. :-hmmmMichael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
November 2, 200421 yr I must say it does look very impressive, props arent my thing but this may be the first turboprop I purchase.Andrew
November 2, 200421 yr Geez another sound expert, you must have better ears than ATR eh? I guess there was nothing really else to whine about eh Dan? Try making your own sound sets for fs add-ons yet?Best Wishes,
Randy J. Smith
http://www.rawbw.com/~bdoolin/shinault/southparkcartmad.gif
I WANT MY 747!
Caution! So why do you nitpic on what I say?To me there is a great value in getting a choice to get a binded printed manual. No matter if I have to pay 50, 60 or 80 bucks for the package. This is such a high quality product, which demands a very high quality printed manual choice aswell. How many copies of PS 1.3 do you think has been sold,..even with it Staffan
November 2, 200421 yr >Why don't you ask Flight1 directly (on their forum), why they>don't offer this choice?Because my original post was only an answer to "oqvist", who initially whished for a printed manual. :-rollAnd I am not talking about something printed on a $150 inc jet printer. I am talking about a high quality high gloss printed manual in a slic binder. ;-)Fly safe, Staffan AhlbergSweden/Stockholm/ESSAPMDG MD-11 Team - Beta testerhttp://www.scandicair.com/images/dc9_banner.jpgMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/3.0 Ghz512 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory128 Mb ATI Radeon 9800 ProCatalyst 4.7DirectX 9.0bW XP Home with SP1E171FPb Flat panel monitor 17"240Gb (2x120) 7200rpm HD Staffan
