Yeah, but if you're willing to pay them for a cheap bound paper manual in black, then why not just print it on yr inkjet and throw it in a cheap dollar store binder? Personally, I prefer that option myelf Since I can put it in a use-able binding rather than some crappy glue bind that obscures the inside quarter of each page, won't sit flat on a desk and is basically just not use-able at all.BTW, not much of whats in the manual is unnecessary rubbish. But the two tutorials total about 100 pages and if you were to print those, most of the rest of the manual could simply be referenced as needed for more detailed info...I'm certainly not against the idea of F1 offering a nice book seperately if people want to buy it that way, I just don't think it'd be much less expensive than printing it yourself, and I kinda like having the control over exactly how its printed and bound...

>> I guess there was nothing really else to whine about eh>Dan? >>>Best Wishes,>Randy J. Smith[h5]Actually there is. Navdata is very incomplete. Many STARs even if they exist they do not work in FMS. As with other addons users will be forced to make SIDs and STARs themselfs in order to have current procedures. On multiple ocassions FMS causes FS to crash even after Service Pack 1 which was now withdrawn. But don't get me wrong. Overall that is excellent plane and I don't regret 35 bucks spent on it. But there are some issues so why to deny that?[/h5]

>Danny, as stated, if you deal with us respectfully, you are>more likely to not have a deleted thread.>>Was this question disrespectful as well?"Can you tell us what are effective dates for two sets of navdata included in Service Pack 1 ?"Because it was also deleted instead of being answered.

Well, that ATR went down because of large droplet icing. At the time this was something largely unknown, this type of icing was discovered during extensive testing AFTER this incident.. After this all ATR aircrafts have been modified.. So I can't quite see how you can hold this against ATR?From FAA bulletin FSAT 95-01:"As part of the Special Certification Review that wasconducted by the FAA and DGAC, an extensive icing tankertest program has been accomplished on the ATR-72 at EdwardsAir Force Base. Testing conducted to confirm certificationcompliance was successfully completed with the aircraftmeeting all certification standards. Additional testing wasconducted with large water droplets (freezing drizzle),which is outside certification standards, and it was foundto be possible for ice to accrete aft of the wing bootsurface when the aircraft was operated in a flaps 15 degreeconfiguration."I took this from the pprune forum, (so I'm not responsible!), but it too gives another view of the Roselawn accident.."The aircraft involved in the Roselawn incident was being flown very far indeed from "the prescribed manner".It was being flown in severe icing with the autopilot engaged. They were holding for getting on for 45 minutes in those conditions. For at least 25 minutes of that time the Captain was down the back chatting up the cabin crew, leaving a very inexperienced FO up front to handle everything in poor weather conditions. For at least 17 minutes there was one of the cabin crew on the flight deck being chatted up by the Captain.During those 45 minutes the pitch trim whooler sounded at least five times, indicating to anyone who spared a thought that the automatics were having just a little trouble keeping the aircraft in trim in the conditions. At no time during those 45 minutes did the crew request higher levels, lower levels, other routings, anything that would take them out of the severe icing they were encountering. The crew demonstrated some of the worst airmanship possible, a degree of complacency and arrogance that takes the breath away and, sure enough, the earth rose up and smote them."I'm just saying that every coin has two sides, and who knows what would've happened to a dash 8 under those circumstances?rgrds fredrik

Agreed. The "find" function in Acrobate is your friend. You don't have to print out the manual. Keep in mind this manual contains everything, too... no separate tutotials, charts, etc. So you can print out some things and not others.

My impressions after 2 days. - Model: very good detailed and at the level that DF usually does;- Panels: You can

Hello Daniel, the "old" dataset is cycle 0108, the new one is 0411. The old one essentially is the set used in the Dreamfleet B737 and Eurowings Pro (Commuter Airlines) addons (the data, not the format!!!), the new one is raw converted data from DAFIF Ed.6 .Yours,Martin Georg/EDDFVACC-SAG PR & Events Coordinator *** mailto:[email protected]http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...r=SAG01&a=a.jpg

It may cost a bit in terms of time but it certainly isn't monetarily inhibiting.

I had the manual printed out today mainly because it would have taken a month of Sundays on my Inkjet to print out the 400+ pages and I didn't have the time or energy to sift though them to see what I did and did not need. Cost was $35 for a Black and white double sided copy at Kinkos. After trying to fly this airplane in some sort of intelligent and organized manner, I quickly realized that a manual and much study would be in order before I could feel in control of it. Much more involved in my opinion, than the PMDG 737, and a bit less intuitive. While on the subject, has anyone else noticed that loud hum that is always present in the cockpit, and seems to pretty much drown out the noise of the engines? Is that some sort of recirculation fan? I have tried switching various things on and off ( Kinkos will have the manual ready tomorrow, so maybe there will be a clue in there as to what to switch off) but I can't seem to kill the sound at present.
