August 7, 201312 yr Nick even has a note about these situations from the last 2 posts. Now you really lost me, Jim (but, that's not hard to do ) . Last two posts? Do you mean posts to the guide? I'm not even totally sure which "latest guide" you mean since there are several more than 4 settings in the inspector guide I'm looking at; 7/15/2013. August 7, 201312 yr Hi, I just re-installed Acceleration and before attempting any modifications I made an effort to identify existing problems. While flying over Chicago with high scenery settings I noticed 2 flickering textures; a roof and a building side. Here's a picture of the side: http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6919/pzw6.jpg My idea was to identify the problem with a specific texture and then see if it's solution would be applicable to other problem textures as well. I haven't gotten any further. Jim F.
August 7, 201312 yr Hi, 1. The last 2 posts above mine, here, in this thread, at AVSIM. There are no posts at the guide because it is locked. 2. Yes here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/drivers-nv-inspector-fsxcfg-complete-guide_topic36586.html Most of those settings will not need changing, at least mine didn't.

I musta' "had my head in the sand". See, I told you I was easily confused; but, I think you already knew that. Jesse Cochran"... eyes ever turned skyward" P3D v5.3 Professional, Windows 10 Professional, Jetline GTX, Gigabyte Aorus X299 Gaming 7 mobo, i7 7740X @ 4.9 GHz, Corsair H115i Liquid Cooling, 32Gb SDRAM @ 3200MHz, Nvidia GeForce GTX1080Ti @ 11 GB ORBX Global + NALC, ASP3D, ASCA, ENVTEX, TrackIR, Virtual-Fly Yoko Yoke, TQ6+, Ruddo+ Rudder Pedals

August 7, 201312 yr Author Nick even has a note about these situations from the last 2 posts. As I said earlier I've been all through that guide, default cfgs, modded cfgs, fresh installs of FSX (obviously not in the video where I have an Orbx airport) but I also just tried updating to the latest Nvidia drivers with a clean install (I was a few revisions behind.) I've pretty much exhausted every possibility short of a format/reinstall of Windows (which I'm skeptical would accomplish anything..) It might just be a glitch specific to GTX 680 cards or something along those lines.
August 7, 201312 yr glitch specific to GTX 680 cards or something along those lines. Possible but my GTX 680 doesnt have that issue. Well at least no more or less than the 580, 480,9800 etc I have used.
August 7, 201312 yr It almost looks like to different sets of textures are competing for the same place. Just my 2 cents worth. I agree. I run into this at Dundee in Orbx SCO. But only on the airport buildings doors and windows and only when taxing, not when sitting still. I've toured every airport in SCO and it only happens at Dundee. Settings have no effect, virgin cfg no effect. Flashing triangles within the margins of the doors or windows. If Orbx ever does an addon Dundee A/P I'll get just to see if it effects any change. Why some experience this and some don't is a head scratcher. Hardware, settings, how the textures were made, or a an unfortunate combination? An FSX gremlin? I also have seen this in FSX with Gex textures on occasion as well. Because of it's flickering nature it's very difficult to capture in a screenshot. Frank L.T
August 8, 201312 yr I get that at OrbX KORS from certain angles, and posted in their support forum. It is a "known issue" with that airport at least, so it may be the same with others. If you also get it with default airports, something may be wrong. However if you view an airport from far away and then zoom in a lot, you will get flickering. The very high view distance in a flight simulator means the precision in the Z-axis just isn't enough. -
August 8, 201312 yr This is what I mention above - SJU. Is this what we're talking about? Bingo, that's it!!! I get that at OrbX KORS from certain angles, and posted in their support forum. I'll have to pay attention to the zoom aspect. I normally fly at 30 or 40. I'm in the process of moving my FTX install to another computer, I'll check the default A/P's after the old box is cleaned up. Frank L.T
August 8, 201312 yr That is the default airport and it was the same in FS9. Nothing can be done about the shimmering as it is just one of the FS bugs -- according to Nick N. as Jim pointed out above.
August 24, 201312 yr Hi guys just searching this forum. I get exactly the same effect at almost all add on airports, especially UK2000. My problem also extends to detailed POI scenery aswell, for example sporting stadiums and bridges and also airport buildings. I'm running ORBX Oz, NZ & EU, it seems the same problems persists in default scrnery also. Everything I try inspector & tweak wise doesn't improve the situation. Has anyone got an idea as to what might be causing the issue? It seems quite a prevalent problem but no solution. I'm running an OC 3770k @ 4.6ghz, 2 x gtx 680 and 16gb Ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
