"Cabin Ready"

Featured Replies

I saw on one of the screen shots from the pinned photo thread that a neat "Cabin Ready" annunciation was displayed on the EFIS panel. I was wondering how one "interacts" with the "cabin crew". Is it something through the FMS or what exactly in the approach phase prompts that message to appear? does it allso display prior to takeoff?

Thanks!

It's on somewhat of a timer, really.  It appears right around push and in the descent as if an FA had done it, but there's no crew interaction where you ask them or anything.  That's for FS2Crew...

Hi Kyle . . . thanks for insights and the pictures. Great to get a taste of the aircraft. Especially liked the wing flex. Nicely done. Just a quick question. Speaking of push, is the pushback logic different in the 777 compared to the NGX?

Thanks so much.

Nope - it's the same.  I'm pretty sure they tweaked the voices a little bit, though.  The recording sounds like they slowed it down to make the voice a little deeper (more like how it was in the old 744).  Other than that, it's really the exact same thing (with a larger default push value).

And thanks!  I'm glad so many people liked that picture.  I tried it a couple (more complex) different ways, but the simple version is what I decided on in the end.  Glad it got the right effect.

You must of studied arts somewhere...

That picture was way too artistic for my brain to even contemplate :im Not Worthy:

Ha-ha . . . I guess a bigger plane demands a deeper voice.

Thanks for the update.

And the picture was fantastic for not only showing the amount of flex, which of course happens on the real 777s but how the wizards at PMDG were able to recreate the effect. Good stuff. As you can probably tell, you've got an airport lounge filled with anxious captains hanging on your posts as we wait for our own planes to arrive.

If the "Cabin ready" note on the EICAS can be controlled by the SDK, then FS2Crew could interact with it. The virtual crew could use that instead of calling up to the flight deck as in the NGX version.. Lots of nice possibilities.

Haha - oddly enough, I tried to get into the school of architecture at Virginia Tech and got turned down three times.

After one of the arch professors told me "you know, for what it's worth, none of the greatest architects that we all love so much in the profession went to any school," and that was that.  I got a degree in public and urban affairs (kind of a mix of politics and city planning) just to have something away from aviation as a back up.

...and now you know more about me than you ever thought you needed to know.

Thanks!  And definitely.  We're all pretty excited to share it with you, and even more so, see the reactions when you get a hold of it.  Imagine what the guys who've designed the thing this whole time feel like!

Gents

The pushback process will appear the same to you, but the core logic has been improved to make it more stable and more predictable.

Still a bit of tuning being done there, and it is on ours list of things to get a complete overhaul at some point during the coming year- so it will wind up changing during a Service Pack update, or up release of the 744v2.0...

Hard to say exactly when just yet...

Yeah man!  I'm a radio broadcaster with a PPL.  One day I will get commercial and will always have airborne traffic as a backup.  Heck traffic flying could be a damn fine gig if you ask me.

Compatible with GSX out of the box, Sir?
