August 9, 201312 yr Hey y'all, Can any owners of the CJ1+ 2.0 add-on, answer two questions for me :- 1). Does the autopilot model the FLC / IAS mode (holding speed by adjusting pitch), or does it use VS only like the CJ1 1.0 did? 2). Can the Autopilot modes and button be assigned to key commands? Thanks in advance!
August 9, 201312 yr Dave, why not register in our forums and ask over there? Hello Ron - I have registered, but have not received activation yet. In the meantime, are you able to confirm the answers to those two questions? ...... Itchy trigger finger to buy the CJ1+ 2.0 ....
August 9, 201312 yr Took a punt and bought it ........ not a bad little jet. It does support default FSX keyboard commands, so that's good. And it does have FLC mode, although it wasn't managing to hold any airspeeds (climbing or descending) during my short flight....... Eg, climbing is VS mode, switch over to FLC, (current speed 180kts, same speed dialled into the AP, but the plane was pitching too high and losing speed. When I adjusted the speed dial (within 20kts as per the manual) it still did not manage to capture or maintain the set speed - and I saw no movement in vertical speed, to account for the amended speed I'd set. Strange as FLC (and VNAV) modes work perfectly in the ES Citation X 2.0. This aircraft seems to be using mainly the default FSX A/P, and thus it doesn't appear to be using the same (custom) FLC system that is in the CX 2.0. ..... but that's just an uneducated observation! But early days, and that apart, a nice little biz jet to add to my collection.
August 9, 201312 yr I'll have to check on the questions but glad to activate if you email the Username. Could be caught in the spam filter. Thanks for the purchase and we'll have a look at functions going forward.
August 9, 201312 yr No probs Ron. I'm at work at a worstation that let's me access AVSIM (yipee!), but not my email providor (doh!), so will drop you an email later with my registration ID. Just checked and still nothing through at my end, and def not in spam filter at this end, but will drop you an email off-line to get sorted. PS..... Fave Bizjet ever without a shadow of doubt is the Eaglesoft Beechcraft 400A / 400XP. Flight dynamics on that are just to die for.
August 9, 201312 yr Hi Dave, Always interested in your comments. I have been looking at the ES jets as well. Still on the fence ($ FTX Global, PMDG 777, Simcheck FMC $). When flying bizjets, I normally only fly routes of about an hour cruise time and like the ability to fly into smaller airports. I would be interested in your pros and cons for the 3 jets you have (realizing your time in the CJ1 is rather limited). I think we can safely consider the flight feel of the Beech 400 as a big thumbs up. Ron, I remember a previous post you mentioned the Citation X was possibly being upgraded to Version 3. Is that still on the burner? It's an honest jet, and beautiful to hand fly (as all Eaglesoft aircraft are). Most of the cost of admission seems to be on the FMC, which in the Universal system and is fully functional. If I am honest, the FMC apart, I can't see a huge deal else added to the aircraft from the CJ1+ v1.0 (which I also own), except some better resolution in the VC, and obviously the FMC's integration into the ND display. Considering that this CJ1+ 2.0 and the amazing Eaglesoft Citation X 2.0 are the same price ($49.95), I personally feel the Citation X 2.0 offers a lot more for the money. The CJ1+ 2.0 as much as I do like it (and will get a lot of enjoyment from it), does not feel like it would be the same ticket price as the Citation X 2.0. So some mixed feelings perhaps, but like all Eaglesoft aircraft, once you're flying in it, any imperfections or weak areas become academic; because it seriously is beautiful to hand fly; climbout, approach, the lot - just feels perfectly balanced and very, very convincing.
August 9, 201312 yr Thanks for the comments. Looks like there might be a Citation X in my near future. August 9, 201312 yr All Eaglesoft aircraft have excellent avionics and FDE, the only thing that could be improved is the VC and external models but only because the state of the art is so good now in 2013. The CJ1+ has a more in depth FMC but the Citation X is a Citation X, if you went on a date with it she'd be the one you'd remember on your deathbed! Just get them all, you won't be disappointed.
August 9, 201312 yr Dave do you have registered FSUIPC? And is it required for the CJ1? Hey Ryan - I do have Registered FSUIPC, however it is not required for the CJ1+ 2.0, as it has no FADEC. (Don't know if the real CJ1+ 2.0 has FADEC, but the Eaglesoft model doesn't).
August 9, 201312 yr Just get them all, you won't be disappointed. I agree. They all have something unique and great about them. I now own all of their BizJets apart from the old Premier. My obsevations of the Eaglesoft Bizjets would be;- Citation X 2.0: Stunning avionics, FDE, performance. Just an all round beauty, as HansRoaming said! Citation II: An often forgotten model, but a lovely simulation of a much older style BizJet. More basic avionics but just as nice a flight model. Great on frames. CJ1+ 2.0: Great FMS, and nice for short range bizjet flights (competing with the F1 Mustang for missons!). FMS apart, avionics (eg AP) is not up to Citation X standards IMHO. But still a great bizjet with that 'magical' feel to the FDE. (Yes that's right Berndt; magical ) Beechcraft 400XP: One of their oldest but one of my fave all time FS addons; superb flight handling characteristics. A wonderful rendition of an older style glass cockpit. I flew about 1000 hours in the FS9 verison of this aircraft.

That's nice to hear. They might have made a few tweaks here and there since, but I did the initial flight models for most of Eaglesoft's products. Glad to see that they are still a pleasure to hand fly. Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
