Nvidia GTX 680 and dual monitors

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Have been searching for an answer to this for a while but keep finding conflicting posts, i have a GTX 680 and would like to run FSX across dual identical monitors, can i just buy an identical monitor and plug it into the graphics card and it will work, or would i need a matrox dual head?  Dont really want to part with £200 for another monitor if i then need to spend another £200 on the matrox.  Sorry if its a boring question but im really struggling to find a straight answer.  I'm looking to have the screen streched across the 2 monitors, not have seperate views etc

Many thanks in advance

Andy

You should be good to go. I had the Matrox TH2GO with three monitors and no problems. I now have a new system with the GTX680, three monitors without the TH2GO and no issues whatsoever.

680 will support 3 monitors easily without any additional hardware

Hi Les,

I am in the same position. Did you see any difference between using 3 monitors with GTX680 + Matrox and GTX680 only?

How do you connect 3 monitors to a GTX 680? Wouldn't you need to have 3 HDMI inputs or 3 DVI inputs?

Not really, i'd say it is about the same.

One thing that is concerning is that with the GTX680, changing views with certain aircraft results in the dropping out of textures and/or scenery.

I'd like to understand what is happening a bit better.
