does anybody know which company is going to make the 787?

PMDG are making a 787, its happening, and happening right now. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the little X-plane project that PMDG have in the works is the Dreamliner. The operational data portion is somewhat of a misnomer. When I was at Northwest we had a fully functional and rated Level D sim at NATCO years before the aircrafts first flight as Northwest was the original North American launch customer. After the Delta "merger" the sim was shipped off to ANA.

The operational details are only for small idiosyncrasies that are needed to polish off a product and with the Dreamliner ramping up production every month those sources will be more and more readily available. Remember that Boeing and PMDG are tight and PMDG no doubt have had all the technical information they've needed for many years. PMDG have gone to Level D sims many times to capture the sounds and feel of aircraft so the 787 would be no different.

Until then, plenty to look forward to in my opinion, its a very exciting time to be in flight simming, and PMDG are really leading the way!

Wow Erik, thanks for this information. No doubt making such a statement you are in contact with the development team themselves. Are you able to expand a little more on this?

After the 777, 747 V2 and the DC-6, PMDG haven't got many options.

They don't have enough access to data for Airbus (AFAIK), so that's not going to be their next project within the short term.

757 and 767 are too old.

The Dash-8 is most likely cancelled. And if not, it would be a bad decision to make one because Majestic has already made one that is on par with PMDG standards.

787 is the most likely next project because it's a popular plane that is just out. They have a good relation ship with Boeing, and by the time their to be released projects are finished (2015 or so), they will probably have enough access to data to make it. Perhaps they have already signed a deal, or are already working on one, who knows?

On the other hand, PMDG can't continue do Boeings forever, so another likely next project would be a CRJ.

I have no idea who you are and that fact alone means you're making things up.

The 787 will be the only Boeing missing (from the ones currently being produced), and an important one. Of course they are going to do it at some point, but don't expect it soon. Even Boeing hasn't figured out all of its issues yet.

BTW, don't expect it at all, just use the ones you already have and when/if it comes out it comes out. I can't believe people have so much free time to fly (and post on forums) that they can actually get bored with those awesome products PMDG already made.

PMDG Developers.....

I might have a suggestion in lieu of that Dash-8 you were working on that Majestic crashed the party on, rivals will be rivals, so perhaps you might think about rivaling that Dash-8-Q400 with an ATR-72-600, thoughts?

+1 for a PMDG Any Civillian Airliner with complicated avionics and navigation systems.

Right now I can't wait to get my hands on a 777-200LR :P

And a 747-400, 747-8 with correct and fully featured avionics, 777-300ER with all the bells and whistles unique to that aircraft...

Whether what comes after that is a 787, ATR, A320, A380, C17, DH8B, or Tu-204 - the only thing I know for sure is that I'll be buying it

Heck I'll even buy that DC6, even though it's not really my type of thing.

Hmmmmm

A well laid trap...

Interesting thread for this alone, let alone anything else!

Well done!

A soft word on outside advice from others though:

Regardless of appearances guys, check, double check and check again before final findings when real names are (perhaps) being used.

Kind regards,
