Flight plan importing?

Recommended Posts

So are imported flight plans with SID/STAR still broken as they are with the NGX or did this issue get fixed with the T7? It looks like they both use the same navdata and flight plan format. I know I can add it by hand etc but sometimes the results don't match and it can be a hassle to have to edit the same FP 3 times in 3 different programs. I run several addons so the FP must match between them all or things get crazy at the last minute.

I think PMDG has abandoned import of flight plans and would think the same will hold true for the T7

Oh by the way I think Steve the developer of Idealflight is updating his software that allows the NGX to import plans correctly - you can do it now with other software but it can be crap shoot with Idealflight should be spot on I hope.

As for the T7 well that would be a new deal and Idealflight would have to be updated to do that.

Ergh - why would you want SID/STARS with the COROUTE? SID can change from preflight to getting clearance along with STAR. Not seen this done ever in the 777 - doesn't take seconds to input them either.

Export one version for the ridiculous, might as well not be using it FSX ATC (or other ATC add on that's equally terrible), and one for the plane, and just make sure to sync them up.  It's really not that much extra effort.

Winds can change runway in minutes. A lot of the times each runway has a different SID - the US this isn't always the case though. For example: WOBU3F of RWY27R was expected at Heathrow during preflight, however they switched to 09's meaning your new SID will be BUZAD4J from 09R.

Kyle I know its not real world but still feels nice lol, I create a plan to a runway of my choosing ahead of time due to the the messy fsx atc

Seems like Rich is having a good time. Anyway, starting out with a plan based on arriving at a STAR or a runway is OK, and it is something to go on. In the sim we might also like to be able to upload plans quickly too, to save time.
