Flight plan importing?

This is not "messed up" - it's how real life COROUTES work - you don't get runways/SIDs and STARs with those. You'd have to make a million different versions for all the possible combinations. Runways, SIDs and STARs and approaches are almost always entered by the pilots manually in real life.

If you want this for your FSX ATC, weather program etc, just check off both export types in whatever program you're using. (PFPX does this extremely well)

It must be hard for you trying to appease these wannabees who think they know it all, but can't be bothered checking up on or researching basic airmanship.

Good luck with the launch, will probably buy when the kiddies have died down and will enjoy whatever process you put in place to learn to help me learn.

Up till now IF10 doesn't allocate SID/STAR routes but does work out times/fuel based on the expected runways or the runways asked for. IF10 took a bit of stick for not having SID/STAR. The IF10 upgrade coming soon adds the AIRAC to the simdata to produce the subset of airports and facilities found in both, selectable with data biased toward the sim or the AIRAC and uploads the FMC file where you need it each time you build a flight. The routes can include IDF/SID/STAR/FAF and are all automated following jet/victor/both airways or whatever you want to try. Rich has been trying out the preview - thanks for your help Rich.

This one just got the price of most condescending post of the year .... #####

Yeah...you know...because we've gotta be difficult.

I prefer having one arrival for multiple runways, makes things simpler.

I agree.  I was just stating that things here are different, really.  In the end, I think it's easier on both pilot and controller.

One thing though a popular feature of IF10 and several other addons is that we can choose to have a plan present a GPS route plotted right onto the touchdown. I suppose these really are for practice approaches and a bit of fun that's all, not intended to be using ATC or going for full realism.  But certain addon ATC programs can work better with the exit WP to the SID and the entry WP to the STAR already in the plan, I am told.

I would always much rather have PMDG use their scarce resources on simulating the real world than wasting time on the fantasy world, which no-one can in any case agree on.

Thanks, I'll try PFPX as a starting point and export from there to other addons.

I'm not even going to reply to the holier-than-thou comment as the wall of text I want to respond with will likely get me in trouble.

...are imported flight plans with SID/STAR still broken as they are with the NGX...

I found the NGX will accept any properly formatted waypoint in the FMC file.
