October 18, 201312 yr Author Glad you got sorted... I could find no such problem, despite having the same panel. Then again, I didn't know that panel had all those acronyms, so maybe I'll go read the Manual!
October 19, 201312 yr Author I tried the panel (I was mistaken, I had another one) fs2004_tds_b787_panel_project.zip and unbelievably, it overwrites the stock FS9 GPS! None of my other planes would then show the GPS.... luckily I have any number of "spare" FS9 installs and could reinstate it. Sheesh...
October 19, 201312 yr That´s why always i try to put all the gauges in the own panel folder and not on the main gauges folder... happened to me some time ago. 7800X3D / 7900XTX / ROG STRIX B650-A / Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6000mhz, etc etc.
October 19, 201312 yr To be fair, when you say 'it overwrites' the gps gauge, the zip file for the panel doesn't have an .exe file to install the panel, so it doesn't actually install or overwrite anything itself. (I always install exe files to blank folders first, to see what they are doing). You simply unzip the gauge files into the gauges folder, so you must have had the option whether to overwrite any existing files or not. Easily done by mistake though of course. I too have several backups of my FS9 folder (over 100GBs now), old and new, so that I can recover, but I am always careful about adding new gauges to the gauge folder, looking at each one any programme wants to install. I think that, if space isn't a problem, keeping all addon gauges in the aircraft panel folder is a good idea, (my FS9 gauges folder is now over 2GBs), but it's too late for that for me now: it would take me for ever to associate each gauge in the FS9/Gauges folder with the appropriate aircraft (plural). I have tried various programmes that purport to do this and also find and delete unused gauges, but I always ended with missing gauges in one cockpit or another in FS9, so have given up trying. October 19, 201312 yr There is still the other problem of FS9 crashing if you reload the flight or aircraft - the problem is with GH_Sound.gau, part of the Groundhandling gauge (which I find very useful to keep a/c at a constant taxi speed - so many pull ahead and need constant braking). If you disable the gauge like this, in the panel.cfg file, then all is OK.. just in case anyone else wants to use the gauge with this plane: //gauge07=GH_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./sound/Groundhandling/Sound.ini You just lose the gauge sounds - but the gauge still works as usual. October 19, 201312 yr Author i try to put all the gauges in the own panel folderI have been tempted to do this... but, like Ml2 I have something like 27,000 files in the "Most-used" sim's gauges folder. There's hardly an aircraft I load up, that can't be serviced with this formidable array. But of course there is the danger that if you drop your guard for a moment while installing new stuff, you can damage the entire install. I see to my horror I have now allowed overwrites of such stalwarts as f16.gau, FPDA_Boeing_Callout.gau, rcb_groundhandling4.cab and others. I probably deserve every crash, anomaly, and oddity I get, now... :(
October 20, 201312 yr I know that this isn't going to help much now, but maybe you should start a backup folder? I have a copy of my FS9 and FSX folders, as well as the relevant C drive/AppData folders and batch script that will update them with new or changed files/folders when I run it. I also keep a copy of that backup on an external hard drive and also an old backup that I never update (on my mother's PC!) just in case something gets lost and I don't notice in time. Plus I have an installation of FS9 out-of-the-box, with all the original Microsoft files. And I also have kept a copy of the zip/rar files of every addon I have ever downloaded over the last twelve years. Maybe excessive, but, in theory at least, my FS9 installation is idiot proof! (Famous last words - I shouldn't be writing this!!!). There's no way I could ever reinstall FS9 from scratch, so my backups are vital (if I ever need to start from a clean install of FS9, I just have to overwrite the default folders with my backups): I guess you have the same kind of complex setup. Never too late to start a backup! Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
October 20, 201312 yr Author Yes I was being a little dramatic there... It's one of the joys of FS2004, isn't it, that you can have any number of installs, each tailored to a specific era or geography. All it took was to overwrite the newly installed gauges one by one, from a trusted install. Didn't take longer than 5 minutes at most, but still... it's something I never do: install/overwrite without having a think about it. Well, almost never. (Slightly OT: Actually, my "Main" sim is the product of a "Rubbish" install I did a long time ago, to check some textures. I liked them, and so it has grown into the one I use most! )

December 24, 201312 yr Moderator So even the fmc will work for my fs9? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk It should... I have not heard of any issues with the FMC. The FMC-1 was originally designed for FS 9, as well. Alan
January 12, 201412 yr It's a great bird. I don't want to open a new Topic. Was on the way to find 3D shockwave landing lights for the TDS B787 but couldn't find some on the web. So here is my config: [lights]light.0 = 8, 7.7, -27, -1, tdsb8_wing_lightlight.1 = 8, 7.7, 27, -1, tdsb8_wing_lightlight.2 = 6, 54.787, 0, -8.5, tdsnose_gearwelllight.3 = 5, 20.30, 11.25, -3.53, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrowlight.4 = 5, 20.30, -11.25, -3.53, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrowlight.5 = 6, 67.00, 0.97, -10.01, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrowlight.6 = 6, 67.00, -0.97, -10.01, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow Don't forget to copy the following Entry into the panel.cfg under the [Vcockpit01] - Section to get the nose wheel light off when turning the gear up. [Vcockpit01] gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light Hope you enjoy it! Regards Stefan Important: My sex is male. God created me as a man. I have no gender.
January 12, 201412 yr Author You're a gentleman, sir! Did you have thoughts about the nav/strobes replacement? Someone suggested just adding a SW light over the existing one.
January 13, 201412 yr Thanks. I tried to figure it out with the beacons, but the result was not good. They will not flash simultaneously. The nav and strobe lights are also part of the model. In flight the position of the added shockwave lights will differ from the original ones in fact of the wing flex. You can't remove the original beacons, strobes and naves because there are part of the model. Important: My sex is male. God created me as a man. I have no gender.
