If something is goed enough to make it onto my primary flightsim pc, and it is kept there for any length of time then ok.

I will eventually try Global on my seconday test pc but, only after I have followed it a bit more and am satisfied that they have fixed the bugs. GEX I didnt need to wait, I had it already and it was sanctioned by FSGS to be kept upto date even tho I never did, I was busy flying around Bluesky area's, PNW, Tongass Fjords and Alaska. Now GEX has changed the Default scenery into something I never seen before( on my old pc mind you) I can honestly say that my interest in the rest of the globe has been spiked and places that I have visited in my travels and flown over here in europe have had a lot of visits in the last 2 days since GEX Europe went in, also without hesitation or pre-try, just bought and installed. Trusted product.I have seen the screenshots but dont believe any fotoshopped stuff you get on websites( GEX or Orbx), I prefer word of mouth and testing myself.

Tree's on the runway are usually overcome buy putting orbx at a higher priority in the scenery config, but not always. Yes tree's on runways and taxiways are a big prob with orbx when first installed, A bit tweaking mostly fixes it, if it dosent create a prob on other area's. I think If you have a totaly Orbx setup it would be less, but so many different sceneries and regions in 1 sim is always going to be a prob with priority given to where you  want to fly next.

 if I want sex again in the future I had better get off the pc and back into life.

 

Ah well. Not a bad swap for the 777, A2A 172, PFPX, GEX/ORBX, Opus etc etc

I have been reading this discussion with interest as I just have the default scenery and wonder which one of these two products would run on my pc better.

I can't speak for flight 1 as I don't have GEX, but the screenshoots from Orbx always come straight from the v key.

 

How do I know this? Well I have all the products they have and when I use the V key and take screens it looks exactly like those on their webpage so it's not photoshopped(they use ENB though, but so can you ingame while flying). I guess the same goes for Flight 1.

Change the A2A172 elevator setting in the aircraft config from 2.0 to 0.5 to get to act like a real plane, what friction prob is there?

Not sure I understand this?  I have GEX and it's not a photo-real representation of a specific area, meaning what I see on the ground is NOT real life ... so I guess I'm confused on how you would compare GEX or FTXG with your real world travels?

When using the 172 on grass strips it get glued to the ground and even full freaking throttle power can't get it to move, thats the friction issue Im talking about..

Thats is the 100$ question, I know that GEX runs great on my old pc, and I know that orbx Australia kills my old pc, Orbx PNW with a few airfields with the 3d grass turned off is flyable and Orbx Alaska is great. Global I have no idea, but these boys will tell you tht is also great, but how fast is thier/your pc? GEX I can Plug as being no framerate hog but as stated I am biased because havent tried Global yet. Any Unbiased old pc types out thier with Both on their pc?

I see your from Norway, I did a 2 wk trip on Huttigrutten in Febuari, Your a lucky bloke to live there. maybe you arent so bad after all.. :ph34r:

I don't now about FTX Global , but with GEX Europe you can expect almost the same performance if not better as with default textures...(Personal experience)

Well i don't know how lucky I am, I live in the far North and it's a very cold climate, and the winters are rough and dark 24/7, I actually wish I lived in Spain  A few weeks from now the sun will dissapear and I won't see it again until the end of Januari..
