September 4, 201312 yr Hi I use the PMDG 737 NGX and I do a complete autoland and everything goes well (apart from the frame rates) but when I get to about 100 feet the autopilot and autoland disconnects and then the plane does land on the runway it turns and it makes a disaster. I think I have set everything right such as the nav radios, course setting and both flight director switches on, I cannot understand why it disconnects but please help me MSFS 2024
September 4, 201312 yr I have no real idea, but do you have Active Sky installed? And if so, do you have the wake turbulence effect enabled, and was an aircraft landing shortly before you? I could imagine that severe wake turbulences (and I have read that AS's wake turbulences can cause any aircraft to bank on final) could force the AP to disconnect, but I don't know about the 737 systems - so this is just a guess. September 4, 201312 yr Where are you trying to land? Not all runways are equipped with a CAT III ILS, and yes the PMDG 737 knows the difference from the NAVDATA. John Sturm
September 4, 201312 yr Are you sure that LOC and G/S are captured? What does FMA says? If you see green SINGLE CH above attitude indicator, than it's IAN and autopilot will disconnect on 100'. And once I had such problem with scenery, where developers put localizer before runway, but not on the opposite direction. That made autopilot to do a 90* bank angle. CAT III ILS, and yes the PMDG 737 knows the difference from the NAVDATA. It doesn't. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
September 5, 201312 yr It only says SINGLE CH, how do I fix it Is this insctription written in green or yellow color? Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Where are you trying to land? Not all runways are equipped with a CAT III ILS, and yes the PMDG 737 knows the difference from the NAVDATA.John, do yourself a favour and try to educate yourself on the subject before giving advice. Not trying to be an &@($* but you clearly don't know what you are talking about & are spreading false information. Have a read on the difference between aircraft approach capability and category minimums. Regards Rob Prest
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Cooper, read the documentation and the forum rules. Honestly it will make your time here a lot easier and save on a lot frustration. Regards Rob Prest
September 5, 201312 yr Try doing it as here - exactly. Then let us know what happened different and when. --Peter Fabian
September 5, 201312 yr well, watch the video, and then do the flight as close to the video as possible with regards to speeds, when to push what button, etc. and then tell us what went wrong and when. e.g. "I pushed the other AP button, but it would not stay lit" --Peter Fabian
September 5, 201312 yr John, do yourself a favour and try to educate yourself on the subject before giving advice. Sorry, this was me having a senior moment. I know better than to associate ILS approach categories with Autoland capabilites. These forums have been crazy to keep up with the last couple of days so I responded hastily without thinking it through. It would have been better for me to remain silent than to give bad info. Sorry if I caused you any confusion Copper but you should disregard my entire previous post. John Sturm
