September 4, 201312 yr Howdy ALL, Gave her a good run last night and ended up in EBBR. Congrats to the Development Team! Is it me or was the VNAV hunting to maintain a solid profile descent? It all worked out in the end. Great Job, let me know your thoughts. Thanks Jody
September 4, 201312 yr I haven't spent enough time to know pretty much anything about the 777. I do know the NGX's VNAV differs from the 777. Not sure if this is one of the consequences. Name available upon request
September 4, 201312 yr Author I am also "well versed" in both systems and just found it to be a bit sluggish to maintain either ALT or SPD (winds forcasted in FMS) and found it hunting for either speed or altituide whilst compromising the one it was not aiming for. Again this is nothing that is not manageable. It did work out. I was just looking to see if others had it noted as well? Nothing more. Its an EPIC product! Perhaps its just my eagle eye on the PFD and FMA......
September 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member Perhaps its just my eagle eye on the PFD and FMA...... Not sure I'd call it an eagle eye, really. You could have an eagle eye for spotting the lack of a radiator in a car, but if it's not supposed to have a radiator, then it's not really an issue. It's been tweaked, and tweaked and tweaked to perfection. My vote is operator error (sorry - but after all of the Beta team hammering these issues out, we really have a lot of time helping to get it just right). Kyle Rodgers
September 4, 201312 yr Weather could also be the culprit. The last couple of builds of this product really impressed all of us with it's VNAV performance. Dan Downs KCRP
September 4, 201312 yr Commercial Member Real life VNAV is not always 100% dead on - there is a certain amount of "laziness" if you will in how the real life AFDS systems - it's something we worked really hard on getting right in this product. We had hours and hours of real life footage of the PFD and ND and we flew the real simulator ourselves. I think we got really close to how it really is and the tech team largely agreed aside from some minor things that will get tweaked in SP1. September 5, 201312 yr 10 flight and have had 0 issues with Vnav performance, out of the norm. In facts the T7 seems to be better than anything else I have used. Hit crossing alts and speed very accurately.
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Any complaints? Yes - I can't get used to the bloody thing after the MD-11!!!!! I swear climbing above an altitude restriction in the MD-11 is easier. Is there a nice method to clear all the intermediate altitudes? If you keep pressing ALT I think you can clean out the entire flight plan's hard altitude constraints, even those above the currently selected?? Best regards, Robin.
September 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Repeated ALT INTV or go the VNAV CLB PAGE and at 6R press CLB DIR> and EXEC. NOTE : They both operate up to and not including the current MCP altitude PS. Similar for DES where the MCP ALT dial must be lower than the restriction(s) ofcourse ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
September 5, 201312 yr Seems to d/c and go into FLCH mode around 18,000ft... Haven't really read into this A/C much so there could be a reason... Running i5-9600K @ 4.8ghz - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz - GTX 3070.

VNAV should never go to FLCH after a disconnect. Disconnect = V/S at current vertical speed. I think you're doing something incorrect here.
