September 9, 201312 yr It's a reasonable if unintuitive attempt to recreate the real control. That being said, enabling the mouse wheel to act as an alternative slow input would really help and make the thing more intuitive.

I really like the product PMDG put on the table and have absolutely no complaints, but if it is easy to add this functionality in a future update, I would welcome it. Bastiaan
September 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Would you please elaborate on how it is one might do this? I looked in the FCOM and can't find how to do this. (Delete, double post. Sorry.) Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
September 9, 201312 yr Wouldn't be in an FCOM. Would be in the FOM. FMS menu pages. What's the FOM? Sorry for sounding dense, but I have FCOM v1 and v2, the FCTM, the intro manual, the tutorial, and the QRH. EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. FCOM v2, page 10.10.64 - 10.10.66. VERY cool feature. Adam Hill
September 9, 201312 yr If you've ever tried setting the minimum to 6000 ft in the NG with the mouse scroll wheel, you would realise how much of a god send this is... David Zhong New video every Thursday: Aircraft Lighting - Boeing 777
September 9, 201312 yr What's the FOM? Sorry for sounding dense, but I have FCOM v1 and v2, the FCTM, the intro manual, the tutorial, and the QRH. FOM is the Flight Ops Manual, but they're company specific and highly confidential, so I don't know why someone would suggest you look there. Basically if you go on the menu page of the FMC, LSK2R is the selection for manually controlling the EFIS. Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
September 9, 201312 yr Personally I'd prefer the option to have both scroll option and the click and hold option. I keep over shooting, then undershooting, then overshooting, then undershooting etc. etc. Much easier in the NGX, but maybe I'm just stuck in my ways... Regards, Ró. I don't like that click and drag thing either. There's at least one developer I know of that came up with this before and thought it a good idea, and they had to put the mouse wheel functionality back in due to public request. Why change something that works efficiently? Dave P. Woycek
September 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Yep, I accidentally referenced a set of manuals I have from another life, not PMDG ones. But seems you found the answer. Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
