September 6, 201312 yr Hi Guys, When i'm on my Flightlevel and want to select the DEP ARR Approach (Runway ...) and i press the EXC button, my route disappears on the ND and the LEG page is empty, just my approach is in it. What is wrong? Bernhard Statter Bernhard Statter
September 6, 201312 yr I've had something similar happening in my NGX a while ago. It would show PROGRAM PIN ERROR on the scratchpad and from then on the RTE page was completely blank, only showing " FMC -> ". Reloading the plane by the end of the flight fixed it and the F/O CDU still worked. Arjen Vandervelde
September 6, 201312 yr This has come up twice, but it isn't happening often. Did you load the aircraft in a cold and dark configuration? Dan Downs KCRP
September 6, 201312 yr http://forum.avsim.net/topic/419135-flight-plan-disappearing-when-selecting-star-en-route/ Answered in post #13, quote: " 777 has a function that will prompt you with the IAP initial fix after selecting the procedure at line 6R. If you hit LSK6R then EXECUTE, it will dump the flight plan and make your active leg to the initial fix. If you EXECUTE without selecting 6R, it will append the procedure to your active flight plan" Zeljko Budovic

September 6, 201312 yr Thanks Zeljko, more than one beta was unaware of that. Never stop learning. Dan Downs KCRP
September 7, 201312 yr Author The 777 start up is "short", not Cold and Dark. On the ground, i type in the dep and arr airport, select the start rwy and the next star. I activate the route and press EXC. Next step (i'm on the RTE page) press "next page" and type in my route, taken from routfinder or VATroute. Activation via EXC. All the steps working fine and are shown on the ND and the LEG page. Prepare for take-off ... etc.. and start. When i'm on my FL and want to select my Approach i go to DEP ARR, Press DEP ARR again because the first time the DEP page appears, go to the ARR page and select my Approach (like in the NGX). I go to the LEG page and fill the gap between the route and the arrival. Now when i press EXC, the whole route disappears from the ND and the LEG page is empty but the approach (Star, Trans, Rwy) is in it and also on the ND. When i'm on the ground and select the APP, it works like in the NGX. But not in the air. Bernhard Statter Need more details, just ask. Bernhard Statter
September 7, 201312 yr Commercial Member You're saying it does this on ANY route? Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 7, 201312 yr Author Now i try another route (EDDS - EDDL) and it seems to work. The route didn't disappear... The route before was EDDS - EDDP and KBOS - KATL But first i downloaded an update of the Operation Center. Is this the reason for working now? And what will happen, if i change the RWY now? Hm.. now it works. Classic demo effect.. Bernhard Statter
September 7, 201312 yr I also had this problem and it was fixed by user error. Basically I was using the NGX and 747 style of FMC operation. Go into dep arr section of the fmc, then select your runway and star, and if you need the other intersection press it, but DONT PRESS the bottom right ls key. Press EXEC only. I was used to pressing the rsk6 and this activates the star overwriting your route. Right now into ENGX I have different runway, star and intersection options, I press ILS27, then PIGO1J and the proper intersection on the 2nd line on the right, and then exec. Bam it goes right into the existing route without overwriting.
September 7, 201312 yr Commercial Member Ok yes guys - you definitely do not press LSK 6R when entering an arrival/approach at cruise. That prompt's function is basically a fast way to do direct to the final approach fix with an intercept course of the runway heading. Pilots use it as soon as ATC starts vectoring them for the approach to "extend the centerline" for reference. It was added in the real 777's development specifically at the request of pilots who wanted a fast way to do it vs. the more tedious multi-step way from the 744 and 757/767. September 7, 201312 yr Author Ah ok, maybe i pressed the button. Thank you.. But its not possible to get the FSX ATIS of the airport? In the NGX i press"ö" to get the little window and can klick to the ATIS, but when i press the ATIS in the 777, nothing happens. Bernhard Statter
