PMDG 777 and PFPX 1.06 Update .RT2 format

Featured Replies

hi,

Since upgrading to the pfpx v 1.06 all the routes of 777 are exported using the .rt2 format, hence the flight plan won't show anymore in the FMC and not working with 777 to import.

any solution for the above

thank you

Hmmm. That's strange. I updated to 1.06, and I haven't had issues. I exported a plan to the 777 just yesterday evening in fact.

Before this update I used NGx mode to transfer and load normally. After I don't try. Can you try that way?

update using the NGX export option. That one makes rte files.

yes the NGX format uses the .rte (but this should be fixed for the 777 either by PFPX or PMDG to support the new format

and thanks a lot guys for your answers

the rt2 format is not a new format it is the format the 747 uses.

totally agree with you, but since in pfpx we have the option to transfer to 777 they should set it to .rte and not update it to rt2

Yeah I know. puting the rt2 format as the main PMDG exportfile was a bad move.

They should have separeted them byt just puting

PMDG rte (737, 777)

PMDG rt2 (747)

export descriptions.

So which folder do you have to export the flight plan to now with PFPX v1.06? The NGX one or the other PMDG one?

Just export it to the NGX folder and all should work...

what I am doing is choosing the ngx name and pointing it to the 777 folder. but pfpx were not supposed to do so. what I am doing is a workaround and not how it should be. I already sent a support ticket to pfpx hope that they will take it into consideration next time

I'm fairly certain the 777 will look in all PMDG FLIGHTPLAN folders so it doesn't matter which one you send it to.

Cheers, Andy.

you're wrong about this one. the flight plan should be in the 777 folder of the flight plan folder. otherwise FMC cannot see it

Mine is directed to general FLIGHTPLAN folder and it's fine.  I can see the flightplan.  I haven't tried putting it in the 777 folder inside FLIGHTPLAN...
